He isn't running the country...yet...
But you can see it in his eyes...

And in the way he holds his shoulders...

The way he strides down the halls of power...

The way he answers the questions of reporters who aren't used to having them answered seriously...

The way he watches those around him, never missing a thing, never seeming to be off-guard...

The People's Business awaits him, and he knows it...

He is ready.

Welcome home, Mr. President-elect Obama...

Your people await you.

mitch mcconnell ;-( continually referred to him as the President yesterday, in interview concerning economic package; never ONCE 'PE O.' What a surprise was that!

4. I noticed that with a whole lot of people. I think they're all getting tired of the PE.
I can't wait until ALL references are to "President Obama" or "Mr. President".

...he's been President since 11/5/08.

THIS is what happens after 8 years of a sham.

Fortunately, we have someone very up for the task.

33. Isn't it funny how sometimes our subconscious tells us things that
our conscious mind cannot get around...and then percolates it for us so we can then repeat it coherently?

39. With Obama I get a humble awareness regarding the power he is about
Edited on Sun Jan-11-09 07:50 PM by Old Crusoe
to assume.

With Dubya, I got none of the humble and quite a damn bit of the arrogance.

But with Dubya, it went worse and deeper.

One addage holds that it is a dangerous man who does not know what he does not know. That would be Junior.

With Obama, I sense a man who knows a lot coming in, including that he does not know everything, and must therefore seek counsel.

He'll lead first by listening. Something Dubya never learned a long time ago.

Kick and recommended.

44. Hello my dear CaliforniaPeggy
What a beautiful post, thank you.

I was so happy to see that PE Obama is planning to visit Canada first. We Canadians just love him and we love our DUers.

I really follow your posts and what a wonderful year this will be beginning from January 20. I was hoping to visit NY and be at the inauguration, but alas, I cannot. Will be taking the day off to see it on TV.

Congratulations to you and for all your hard work. You really impress me.

and Babylonsister. I am so glad I found DU. Cried when George Bush got a second term, looked for places to chat. Canada had none. I goggled Democrats and found Talk Left and then somebody mentioned DU and I raced to go there. Lurked for a long time and eventually signed up. Now I am at home with you all.

Want to be here with all of you.

Lots of love and best wishes. You are gorgeous too, had to say that!

46. You said it much more eloquently than I could CP
The free world has a LEADER again. Not an incompetent dolt who always looked like a stunned mullet or a deer caught in the headlights in even the best photo shot and got snippy and petulant if a member of the press even considered not kowtowing to his every whim. It has a LEADER -a handsome, eloquent, compassionate, visionary and down-to-earth LEADER. A leader who did not get his position by clinging to his daddy's and brother's coattails but who rose from obscurity, defied the odds and overcame great adversity and who never lost his faith or the common touch along the way.

I need to come back to the United States again soon. I visited during the second year of the * presidency and I remember thinking how breathtakingly beautiful the country was and how wonderful the people are. And I thought throughout that such a beautiful nation and a wonderful people didn't deserve to have the President that it did. But this time I can come back and see a nation prospering under the enlightened government that it does deserve -a government which has the best interests of the the nation and its people first and foremost in its heart

But best of all I can go to sleep every night knowing that there is a good man at the helm of the free world who wants a better world for all its citizens and will do everything can to achieve that
