I love Jimmy Carter.
:loveya: He called Burris and told him not to back down and that he would be a good senator. He always knows what's right. :loveya:

8. I hope Jimmy Carter takes over the conversation, to some extent.
Make the Bushies uncomfortable. Can you imagine this lunch? LOL.

6. Carter is right. The governor has not been removed from office and Burris is a legal
appointment. There is no hint that a deal between Blogo and Burris existed. Seat the man, Reid!

14. When I hear the term "Southern Gentleman" I automatically think of
Jimmy Carter. Not a mean bone in the man's body, generous of heart...

15. Burris will NOT be a good senator
Carter is wrong on this one. That said, the Dems have made a good showing. Once White signs the appointment Burris will be seated. This will be a non story in a few days.

17. a few wacky press conferences don't prove anything
He has an overall record of good service to the state of Illinois in his other positions, so he could very well be a good senator.
