Should we call him Bush '00 (not 43)?
It is much easier to remember and distinguish the Bushes by the year in which each was elected: Bush 88 and Bush 00.

I'm convinced that the crowd who came up with the 43 tag wanted to avoid the more obvious and fitting name: 00.

Please recommend if you want to advocate for the name change.

1. At the risk of dating myself ( not in a romantic way, which could make you blind)
does anyone else remember Jethro Bodine and the Beverly Hillbillies, specifically as he trained to become a "double naught" spy?

That's the best description for GW, "double naught"

2. If we want to be polite....

4. I think '41' vs '43' caught on because the two Bushes had hats made with the #s on the fronts.
And I think it developed into nicknames within the family.

6. Huh?
"The crowd who came up with the 43 tag?" Um, the cold hard fact of history that he's the 43rd person sworn into the office since the Constitution was ratified is a "crowd" that "came up with" something because it "wanted to avoid" something?

:dunce:

12. There must always be an "*" next to his name since he was illegitimately elected.

13. Actually I'm trying to figure out
some way of noting the complete LACK of a president during the past eight years.

Might as well just say "Satan 43" or "Howdy Doody '00" as use Bush's name.

None of them was lawfully elected, IMO...
