U.S. President George W. Bush is given the Department of Defense Medal of Distinguished Public Service from Secretary of Defense Robert Gates during a farewell tribute at Fort Meyer in Arlington, Virginia, January 6, 2009. At right is Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen.
