Would it restore your faith in America if the young people voted Bush out
If the young people were to show themselves "smarter" than the average voter and were the major group to vote Bush out of office, would it make you feel better about our future? I know I would. I don't see a bright future on the road we are presently traveling, and I'm usually a very optimistic person.

1. It' s a start
I'd be thrilled if 18-30 year olds vote in large numbers this time. We have to keep them voting;the deficit belongs to them most completely. And their children.

Only they can fix it, with our help- yes,but thanks to B* they have an economic headache to contend with.Or is it a nightmare?

Anyway,it's chronic

11. Way to go!
It's been a long time since I've been 18 but I am heartened by the enthusiasm and political savvy I've seen on this board from people who are casting their first legal votes. Keep it up!

4. It definitely would
It would be great if young people voted in record numbers, voted for Kerry by a solid margin, and then the media, in the glow of the Kerry victory, were to report on this far and wide.

One can dream, right?

8. My Kids are making me proud
My aggressive heavy metal son does commando campaigning at his college. He joins in when he hears someone slamming Bush or praising Kerry and he goes for the throat of any Young Repuke.
He is amused at how easy it is to silence them. They have NO debate skills since all they do is listen to Puke Limbaugh and FU(X) News and they think they're "informed" by the insults and propaganda.

He is loving this campaign stuff. And his 18-year old ass is on the line. I am so proud of him.

And at dinner at a fast food place, my son, 20 yr old daughter and I started going over freeptard vs DU points, one by one, loudly and with great passion. Everyone in the place ( not many, but...) was listening. ( How could they help it?) A few smiled big. And my daughter says we should do that every day until the election. Just go out to eat and start talking commando politics - let the freeps know we aren't quiet any more....

I think we may be in for a huge young adult turnout.

14. Hoorah!
Your kids are making ME proud. Commando campaigning -- I love it. Good on them. It's amazing what a little reasoning will do to a republican argument, and it's especially effective when it's coming from a peer. And when a younger kid can outmatch, outwit, and out-think some goofball older republican, I think it convinces people that that repub is nothing more than a talking head.

9. It will restore my faith in America if Bush is voted out. Period.
If Bush is voted out, it will mean that enough people in this country have realized what a reckless, dangerous, idiotic lunatic he is and that he was well on his way to looting and ruining the country.

But, on the contrary, if Bush is allowed another chance to rule and the march toward fascism continues... Well, then... quite frankly, this country deserves everything Bush and his buddies do to it.

10. GOTV for 18-24 is huge this year. This is why i think Kerry has it locked
not to mention the 2000 Nader voters who know better this year and the repubs who found out * isn't conservative.

16. A Lot Of Us Felt The Same Way In 1972...
...do I need to post the results of that election?

Banking hopes on a Kerry victory on "un-documented" voters...18 year olds, never-voted before and so on, is asking for a hell of a lot.

And there were a lot more of us 18-21 year olds in the 70's than there are today.

17. This 20 year old is going out of her way to vote
I'm in England and getting my absentee ballot sent to me here. Wish I could vote directly, but absentee is better than none!

I've pressured all my friends into voting and they know they better show up on Election Day or else. :P
