Kerry will win in a landslide
My own theory - and I'm sticking with it -

Many people have been "educated" for years and years - back to the pre-Clinton era - that being liberal is unAmerican, unpatriotic, stupid, etc. If you are a Democrat then you must be on welfare, are a deadbeat, name the negative adjective of your choice - it has been hurled at the party of the people for years. There are still people who avoid using the liberal tag like it is a four-lettered word. Some are in professional situations where it is not advisable to come right out and admit they don't like Bush. People are losing their jobs, health care, etc. and in this crappy economy who can afford to walk away from their livelihood? People who don't agree with this administration are facing a meanness of spirit that is unprecedented in the history of this nation. That said -

I believe there are many of people who won't (or can't) stand up and say what a buffoon Bush and the GOPnistas are but when it comes time, it the privacy of the voting booth, will let their conscience speak. The polls do not reflect the patriotism and compassion that is felt by the everyday people just going about their lives. It will show in the final tally.

I WILL be in Washington for the inauguration of John F. Kerry as POTUS on January 20, 2005 - won't be at any of the official functions but I will not miss history being made - the return of America to its people.

2. Ky, this is also my hope
but as I have said before, it depends on whether they want to give up the power they have. In the end, each repub will have to decide which side to take; on a national level, including Supreme Court justices (Roe v. Wade), letting him finish his war.
Then there are the pocket-book issues; we know them all by heart.

Do they want to change the world, or change the country?

I truly believe for a lot of them, their choice is tougher than ours. All we can do is hope they are as fed up as we are. I think they are.

3. I don't share your optimism. I think the Repubs are all about greed and $
I participate in a bipartisan forum. Believe me, Bush supporters HATE "leftie liberal commies" and will NOT vote for anyone besides Bush, no matter Bush does or does not do. Why? At this point it's a matter of principle. Second, it's all about the tax cuts. Give someone a couple of thousand dollars, and they'll sign away their civil liberties (some of 'em).

I still think it's going to be very close. It truly is the left base vs. the right base, with the ones in the middle doing the tie-breaking decision. That's just what I think.

But hey, I'd LOVE to be wrong and Kerry win in a landslide!

6. Well, Texas, I agree with you, too
I think we are both right. Maybe we will get lucky and enough moderate repubs will not vote...it is possible.

5. I agree - a landslide!
Problem is, will we know about it? Will they steal enough votes to make it look like they won? Will the media report what's really going on? Lots of Republicans will quietly vote for Kerry or for NOBODY. But will we know about it?
