Why do Zogby, Ras, other polls never get mentioned in news?
Even left/democratic pundits never mention these other polls. Are they considered '2nd tier' or something? I understand why AP would tout the AP poll; why Time would flog the Time poll, etc... But many news organziations report non-affiliated numbers (eg, CNN reports Time poll), but never Zogby or Rassmussen, or other polls which I often see mentioned here.

Even assuming a strong conservative bias in some news media, I would think that the Kerry campaign could be more aggressive in touting these numbers, for instance when their spokespeople are on shows discussing how the campaign is doing.

Or do they get mentioned, and I just haven't seen it?

3. that's right
I forgot. It's hard to keep track of who owns who anymore. Maybe I actually can't think of one news organization showing a poll from another one. Except many do use the AP and Gallup polls (now you're going to tell me which conglomerate owns them as well).

2. becuase they're accurate
:)

seriously, the whole 'kerry is toast' theme would be ruined if they reported polls that showed the race close. i would hardly call Zogby 2nd tier.

why the few dems in the media never mention them, i have no idea.

4. I see Zogby numbers getting a fair amount of play

I think most people who look at polls are taking a "wait and see" approach with Rasmussen to see if he proves himself after his embarrassing 2000 polls.
