Did anyone catch the discussion on Morning Joe with Jonathan Capehart last week? I missed it, but read about it on another message board. I read that the panel was horrible and disrespectful to Jonathan, as he tried to explain to them why the Rick Warren thing is offensive. Capehart is gay apparently, which I didn't know (but why would I? Though I remember him writing about Sam Nunn, Don't Ask Don't Tell), and Joe asked Pat "Why would it affect you if Jonathan got married?" and Pat went into his asshole "He can get married....to a woman!" self. Anyway, I didnt' see it, but Jonathan was supposedly very patient in explaining to the nimrods on Morning Joe.

Joe couldn't stand that he was faced on his own show. He had to keep asserting that he was right, and he knew he
was right because he reads newspapers.

Joe tried to assert that Z was suggesting things that no one else was. He was just shy of saying that Z didn't know what
he was talking about.

This exchange demonstrates how duped we have become. Yes, Joe has read American newspapers, but they didn't give the full
picture. Most people probably don't know the facts that Z was throwing out. That's because our country has decided that
we will take the side of Israel and demonize the Palestinians.

It's disgraceful. Both sides need to stop the killing and the violence. Both sides. No one should die.

Z is also right about our next move. Are we going to stand around and anticipate the next violent act and mold
our foreign policy based on fear? Or will be try to be peacemakers?

The whole article is short and interesting. I must admit, I too have bought into the whole "Arafat walked away from the best deal he'll ever get" understanding of the Camp David talks. I was wrong.
