Prosecutors seek to release Blago's calls

By Natasha Korecki federal courts reporter/nkorecki@suntimes.com

Federal prosecutors are seeking to release portions of secret audio recordings containing phone conversations with the governor as part of the criminal investigation.

Prosecutors just filed a motion in federal court today asking to release portions of the recordings to a House Committee seeking the governor’s impeachment.

ON EDIT & FOR CLARIFICATION: The "Oh oh" was for dramatic event, not to imply its a bad thing.

6. I had been wondering about how you are doing.

I have seen you in some of the other threads--catching a lot of grief I might add--so I hadn't pushed the panic button yet. I KNEW you were still feeling feisty enough to be on here stirring the pot so panic had not set in yet. I HAD, however, been wondering how you and your office have been faring with all the Blago hoopla here in Illinois.

I have a pal in Economic Development that I have also been wondering about, too, so don't think I'm singling you out! You OK?

:hi:

7. I resigned in May of 2007
And I'm consulting. One of my client's is a state rep that had to face a Blago backed challenger in the primary. We won and it felt good that Rod's people knew I was involved. LOL how have you been.

8. Oh hell, I'm still a "Bad Dem" locally.
I pissed off the local party chair and he's RE-declared me a "BAD Dem."

I thought I was kinda past all that after the November election where the Dems we worked showed real well--but his nose is out of joint because I still have a lot of local GOP supporters and because we had a couple GOP signs in our front yard. (Funny thing about "party" stuff on a local basis, I will support a personal friend every time--so maybe I AM a bad Dem--I dunno...)

It also plucks his last nerve that we spend a fair amount of time working over in Vermilion County rather than here. We worked with Lori DeYoung in her State Rep race against Bill Black. (You have to figure it is our district--so why WOULDN'T we be helping her--ya know?) She gave him a good run, so expect to see her again--and look for her to win. She's a good one.

 Feel free to come help in that race next time--I'll find you a place to stay anytime you are willing to venture downstate!

Glad to hear you bailed when you did. Smart move on your part. Happy to know you are well and happy (and yes, it really does feel good to know you rattled a cage or two by winning--doesn't it?) Anyhow, we are fairly healthy and still full of ourselves. We were hoping to get up to Chicago some time after the first of the year. Dunno if we'll manage it, but we sure do want to.

Take care!

Laura
