Didn't Ed Koch endorse Bush in 2004?
If so, why does he think that New York Democrats should now listen to him about their next senator (if Hillary is confirmed?)

And since when "being nice" and the "right DNA" (his words) make one an effective senator?

3. Not exaclty. This means that he is charmed by the man on top
not caring about Congress and the Supreme Court that affect our lives as much as who is in the White House.

One would think that a mayor, whose duties, supposedly do affect our day to day life would understand this.

And, still, being nice and having the right DNA do not make, or assure, an effective senator.

14. Koch saw he couldn't stop a moving train against Bush and GOP. That's all. He's establishment

and a powerstructure player whenever the powerstructure needs to dangle a Dem name against other Democrats. There isn't an ounce of sincerity in him when it comes to crucial, defining moments for Democrats. Koch was doing in 2004 what ALOT of establishment Dems were doing as led by Bill Clinton, supporting Bush on all his terrorism and Iraq war decisions. Anything Koch does is suspect, because of his lack of credibility.

4. Just like Lieberman, any Dem that endorsed Shrub...
Edited on Thu Dec-25-08 02:43 PM by RiverStone
...has lost lots of credibility. IMO, this is far different then being a puke and finally 'getting it'. He was a long time Dem who basically, went crazy.

In other words, who gives a shit what Koch has to say.

Endorsing Obama does not give him a do-over for being the total idiot and raving about Shrub in 04.

There is no reason why NY Dems should listen to him.

when he endorsed bush in 2000 he said it was because the country had moved to far to the left. i never understood that.

9. Yeah, right. Moved so far left that we had a national health care
that we erased (almost) poverty, that we've cared for the poor, the elderly and the sick at the expense of the multi millionaires hedge funds managers. We even withdrew from Iraq, decided to spend money on our infrastructure.

:sarcasm:

I wish that the ones who complain about "far left" will explain what they mean by this term.

11. Yes he did.
Not surprising really as Koch has always been a piece of shit. My family hated him so much they actually voted Republican to get rid of him.

And since he's lost the primary he's been looking to punish Democrats for rejecting his ass. There isn't enough salt on the planet with which to take anything he says.

Regards

12. I suppose he has to take himself seriously since no one else will
I suspect that his endorsement of Bush in 2004 and now of Kennedy is just to get his name in the papers, to remind people that he still exists. And the newspapers, like idiots, accommodate him.
