I'm still looking forward to an Obama administration.
I still think we'll see big positive changes. I never expected to be happy with every cabinet or administration appointment, but I don't see it as a cabinet that will undermine positive progress on vital issues. I certainly don't see the incoming administration as republican lite.

I think we'll see big changes when it comes to the economy. We already see it in an agressive proposal to create jobs. We see it in a determination to tackle climate change and take a science based approach to the environment. We see it in a plan to shut down Gitmo.

Think about it: Janet Napolitano at Homeland Security instead of Michael Chertoff, Governor Richardson at Commerce instead of Gutierrez, Solis at Labor instead of Chao, Daschle instead of Leavitt at HHS. In fact, every single person nominated is better by far than the person currently holding that position. Yeah, some are centrists. None are right wing ideologues. That's an enormous relief to me right there.

I'm still glad I supported Obama and glad he was elected.

2. I have been very happy with him, up to this point
I am sure there is still a possibility that he will dissappoint, but right now he seems to be on the path to becoming a great President.

5. Many people in the SW look upon him as the socialist pres who will raise taxes -
I don't see him in that light. Not yet, anyway!!!

6. it's only "socialist" if you raise taxes on the wealthy. It's "conservative" to do it to...
...the middle class.

11. Ah thank you, yeah there certainly seems to be too many misperceptions about Obama
although my observation is that many people that thought he was going to be this wild eyed radical liberal/socialist have admitted they were mistaken (or at least they say it appears they were mistaken).

4. I'm still excited as well
I disagree on a few appointments, but I believe Obama when he says the change comes form him and his policies. If some of the Cabinet try to work against him, they won't be around long.

Plus, as I've said before, the Cabinet merely enacts the policy. It's the White House advisers and staff that will help him shape it. ;)

8. I am looking to the future with hope - I just don't want people like Warren to be a part of it.
I have read about Warren's Dream for his P.E.A.C.E. plan and this not something I want to see funded because of his involvement with African Preacher's who spread hatred about Gay people. That's all.
