(Not JUST about Warren...ok?)

It's time for the inclusion to include progressives and the poor.

It's time to include the powerLESS as well as the powerful.

It's time for Barack Obama's supporters to remember that this was the WHOLE Democratic Party's victory, won by progressives as well as "moderates", and that it means progressives are entitled to equal respect and influence in this administration with anyone else.

And there's no sane reason for any true Democrat to disagree with the above.

One hand towards the foe, one arm AROUND the friend.

And this is written by a SUPPORTER of Barack Obama. Got that, jack?

1. I agree
But I think Obama ran on the idea that our "friends" are not defined by their politics.

Certainly that is true for me. Many of my friends have big disagreements with me on politics.

(I realize you mean this in the political sense of "friends")

2. Still, Obama can get THAT kind of friends without telling the kind of friend I meant

to stay in the background and wait.

Why is he acting like he just squeaked in by two electoral votes?

Is there a reason his team can't accept that they won big time and have a mandate?

6. U. Chicago.
They too, are shocked, I tell you, to see Capitalism tanking.

Just need a few more cops on the Biz beat?

No Mr. President Elect it goes way deeper than that.

They *know* it, but they still want it to be like 1989 again, when a go go guy
with an MBA and a scheme could go far...

That aint gonna happen, guys.

4. Obama's objectives don't require us to be kept in the cold.
We aren't less important than the center-right and Wall Street.

I'm not sure I understand your OP title, but I could definitely quote, with conviction, Michael Corleone in Godfather Part II:

"Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer."

That concept I get entirely.

And I accept your post at face value that you are not speaking only of Warren, but even in keeping with your theme, Rick Warren is not powerful enough to qualify for ass-kissing even under the Corleone code. I can think of a dozen more likely characters (enemies).

8. If nothing else, you'd think Rahm, as a Michael Corleone type, would understand.
n/t.
