Kerry is doing better than Gore did. And Gore won.
Gore won 21 states.
Kerry is leading or tied in 25 states with 305 electoral votes.

He's within striking distance of the lead in:
AR (2)
MO (2)
OH (3)
VA (3)

The latest AZ poll has him down 16. Don't believe it.

Compare Kerry's state polls to Gore and Bush here:

3. who did women think
was cuter? Gore or Kerry? That is super important when you get down to it. Like Clinton was super sexy. Not handsome but just sexy you know. I didn't find Gore and Kerry as appealing as Clinton, but probably as more attracked to Gore than Kerry. What do other women think? Clinton hands down. The guy IS sex.

16. I've Never Understood how a 50 year old man can be cute
Maybe hunky, good looking and lots of other adjectives but cute?

6. Good question, pg, if misplaced
Worthy of an original thread once you get some more postings. I like to call this the "24 year old storeclerk vote" question. Edwards definitely gets the cute vote over the other three.

8. yes you are correct
it is slightly shallow, but everything counts. Even if we don't want to admit it. And Democrats usually have the cuter, sexier, younger, more fun ticket.

I want to hear from the ladies. Is Kerry as appealing as Gore? I am very curious about this.

11. I find Kerry more appealing than Gore.
Smart is sexy. Not that Gore wasn't smart. It was just different.

Edwards is downright hot!

24. Gore More Appealing
I found Gore more appealing than Kerry on the superficial level. With Gore, you knew that underneath he could rock. Kerry comes across as more parent-like. Not that there is anythihg wrong with that. Kerry gets major appeal points for protesting once he got back from the war.

Edwards and his 100 watt, used car salesman, smile does nothing for me, although on a purely looks basis he's the best looking of the bunch.

Clinton is a totally different animal. His Elvisness would normally be a turn-off to me, but combined with his intelligence and uncanny ability to survive his many high wire acts, and his obvious love for the high wire, ya gotta be intrigued. Clinton is the most interesting character to come along in a long time. Mesmerizing.

15. When I was very young
the mother of one of my friends claimed she voted for Eisenhower because he was "sexy." Never underestimate the power of shallowness nor a woman's definition of sexy.

23. She probably remembered General Eisenhower
He was not a pretty boy, but led troops to victory against the Nazis. Power can be sexy.

9. The poll data is the latest from electoral-vote.com. Check their site.
Gore got 48% of the 2-party vote in OH. You KNOW Kerry will do better than that, considering the major job loss and massive number of newly registered young voters for Kerry.

10. *'s "favorability" in 8/2000 was 60%. Today it's 55%.
And you are right. He lost back then.

25. It's probably actually lower than that
In a "real" poll, he's no doubt under 50%.

Or maybe that's just me; I can't fathom how this guy has more than a single-digit favorability rating.

17. Wasn't Gore ahead in the national polls in September of 2000?
If memory serves, September of 2000 was a bad month for the Bush campaign.

18. Kerry has a great smile and Edwards is just hot
I always thought Gore was good-looking, too, but too stiff. No one can call a 60-year old who rides motorcycles and ski-boards "stiff".

I mean, seriously, his smile lights up his whole face.

21. Under normal circumstances the comparison would look good.
But these are not normal circumstances. While Gore DID have to deal with corporate media whores blowing Bush Jr to a somewhat lesser extent, he did NOT have the massive electro-fraud potential, arranged "terrorist" attacks, and a 24/7 FEAR culture working against him.

The FEAR culture alone is respionsible for half of Junior's likely votes. Not even these people believe that moron has been good for the country. They just believe the bullshit that Kerry could be worse, just like Uncle Dick said.
