What's a New Yorker to do?
I live in upstate NY (conservative country), but it is a given that NY will go to Kerry. How do I help voters in other states see the light? I am active in local elections, but I feel like my hands are tied on the Presidential election.

Though I do enjoy saying -> I won't argue about the Kerry/Bush thing with you, NY will go to Kerry so quit whining!

2. I'm from the same area
I'm from the Rome area, so I feel your pain. Other than working in local elections, I don't really know what you can do to help Kerry, except donate money.

3. So True
I was arguing the bad points of the current Evil Dictator, but I then realized that I was wasting my passion and intelligence.

9. Then you should be good on the phones
Do the phone banking, you can do it from home.

I suck on the phone because I always feel guilty just for calling people at home to begin with, I feel like a telemarketer. :(

4. JohnKerry.com. There's an Email Phone Bank being run in NH
where they send you lists and scripts, you call and e-mail results back. Phone banking with no need to leave your home.

5. Phones and emails, mostly, but *ALSO*...
If you can, people are travelling to swing states to do canvassing.

6. .

participating in the media "rapid response" effort is a job that needs doing.

kerry is not only fighting bush, he's fighting the corporate media interests who see themselves best served by four more years of bush.

we need to shape public opinion to counter this.

and, yes, your local dem/kerry headquarters and johnkerry.com should have lots of good ideas.

one last thought... do you have any friends or relatives in swing states that are undecided or are for bush? you could work on them.

or, if you have friends and family who live in swing states, you could help them win over undecideds and bush voters by forwarding to them strong points re supporting kerry and not bush.

cheers :)
