I'm looking for a better photo--it was evident today at Bush's press event about the Russian school tragedy. Was a clip on a CNN too.

It definitely looks like a bruise and not an abrasion or more evidence of lying (biblical boil). It looks like he may have slipped off his leash, oiled up, and conked his head on something, undoubtedly the corner of the hotel bedside table when he was looking for a Gideon's bible.

Yesterday it wasn't there, today he's got a large mark on his face. It's true that HIV (and lots of other diseases) cause lesions.

Anybody can get HIV. If there is any truth in the persistent rumors about W's drug use, that would put him at risk. If there is any truth to the persistent rumors about W having sex with multiple partners, or with men, that would put him at risk.

It's a reasonable question.

After more than 20 years as a nurse, I can usually spot 'em, too.

Lesions from HIV don't pop up quite that quickly. Besides, it looks more like a brownish bruise, not a purplish Kaposi's lesion. Not only that, but we all know he'd be on the most expensive HIV treatment possible, and that would prevent them.

He does have two gin blossoms, though, one on his nose and another just below his left cheek prominence.

My only question is why he's put makeup over the gin blossoms but neglected the bruise. Habit?

I've noticed it and it's been talked about here before.

Sometimes it is less noticeable than other times.

Back when he had that disastrous press conference in February, it was noticeable, though not as bad as now. Many people here were asking what it was. Same spot, too.

I'm not a nurse or a doctor, but I'm wondering about skin cancer.
