Cheney was sending a message with the Blago tapes, "we have everyone of you on tape" that is
Govs, Senators, House members, and state officials. And we are keeping the master copies when we leave. That's my sense of this whole indictment.

and why do you think the FBI has everyone on tape?

26. You do know that the Guv. is universally reviled by both parties in Illinois right?
Even if this was some sort of black ops thing (which any sane person can see that it isn't) it would appear that most of the people who live in Illinois are more than happy with the result.

34. and were the two judges (one a clinton appointee) that authorized the wiretaps
part of that black ops group? And do blackops groups usually get warrants? Or are you just too divorced from reality to think about these things?

33. The FBI, operating out of the Bush DOJ, has been thoroughly politicized.
And that's why Mueller has to go.

31. It actually makes sense when you think about it
Dick Cheney wanted to fire Scooter Libby but he couldn't bring himself to do it. Therefore he ordered him to leak the name of a CIA agent which caused Fitzgerald to investigate it and prosecute Libby. And by "think about it" I wasn't really defining "thinking" in the traditional sense.

make a interesting plot for a trash thriller novel, the kind I want to read on a long plane ride. Escapist fiction is entertaining in small doses.

they may have some people tapped - I don't doubt that necessarily - but I don't think this has anything to do with that.

28. I'm reading the book about Cheney, "Angler", and you aren't far off
If they swept our phone and email conversations all over the country, then you know they honed in on sitting government officials. You ought to read the first chapter of the book where the author details what Cheney did to all those who applied to be W's VP running mate in 2000. Cheney is evil.

32. So, if I get this right, any time heretofore that an arrogant, lawless, egomaniac
with a D behind their name gets indicted for trying to sell a Senate seat....it's all Cheney's fault. You need to do some reading. This guy has been under investigation for three years and has a long laundry list of wrongdoing and corruption. What are we supposed to do? Ignore it because he is a Democrat. Yeah, that would be really good and healthy for our country.
