I'm so disappointed in the Energy Secretary pick.
I wanted him to pick Palin. She is an expert on energy, after all.

8. Oooh, pretty picture with pinkish-purple light!
It reminds me of some of the paintings I saw years ago at the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, by a school of Russian painters, circa 1900, which played with the light of the far north.

Regrettably I never remembered the painters' names, nor have I seen anything about their art anywhere else over the years. A shame -- their work just blew me away.

4. The sad thing is that a few days ago I was googling "Secretary of Energy" and one suggestion was...
"secretary of energy Palin"

Apparently there are lots of people searching for that. I weep for my country.

6. I was sort of hoping he'd pick her for the head of homeland security.
After all, she can see Putin's head as it floats over the Alaskan border.

15. Welcome to DU, Jay!
I've heard it said in jest that the one thing Nobel-winning scientists have in common is they're all excellent at raising money. That also might come in handy once we find out how truly broke we are.

(I expect we'll find that out around January 23rd.)
