Jeffrey Toobin on Obama and the Blagojevich mess
Paraphrasing what he just said on CNN.

"The one person most likely to come out of this looking really good is Barack Obama. If you look at this you see Blagojevich complaining all over the place that Obama won't "play ball" that he's not willing to give him (Blagojevich) anything more than appreciation, and because of that Blagojevich says about Obama, F-you. Obama is probably never have been so happy to be insulted by someone in his life."

I hope the investigation is extremely vigorous and thorough including all directions that are remotely related to Barack Obama; because I believe firmly that not only can he handle it, he'll come out of it stronger than ever.

3. They'll try..... but it'll backfire badly

Obama has a 79% approval rating.

This will cause that to go up.

6. Yeah, but it'll rank right there with the "Clinton body count" as mouthbreathing tinfoill RW garbage
I still say Obama can come out of this stronger if he is quick, aggressive, thorough and smart in dealing with it. Luckily, Obama IS quick, aggressive, thorough and smart.

Obama will be fine.

10. some of those here on the so called left or centre squealed about Rezko
for how long...
are the same ones dissapointed that Obama has conducted himself with integrity once again in this fracas and will just wait in the wings for another nonissue to salivate over.

7. The indictment
provides a great deal of valuable information. Obama & Co. look very good, indeed.

8. timing is everthing
Look at the press release and when the order was obtained to get the phone taps and when the extensions were granted.

then look at page 58, paragraph 90 and the discussion of Senate Candidate 1 - that is Jarrett. Jarrett announced she wasn't interested in the seat around the 12th of November.

Obama's camp was not only "not playing ball" with Blago, they were making sure that they could not be accused of it. I'd bet that Rahm did complain to the feds, crap like that on your shoes stinks if you don't wipe it off.

9. My dad always said who you are when nobody's looking
is who you really are.

I'm sure if he had wanted, Obama knew of plenty of perfectly legal ways he could have "played ball" but it wasn't the right thing to do. This scandal shows the character and honor of Obama's character.

Will Hannity and Rush scream about it for the next 8 to 16 years? Yes. Let them. It did us nothing but good in the general election.

11. technically its not an indictment yet - only a complaint
enough for an arrest and a chage - he may skip the grand jury or use it to box him in.

12. Thanks for this, Veganistan!
It doesn't matter if the fascists try to bring Obama in on this or not because it will be another epic fail on their smear tactics.
