And it is very doubtful that there would be enough votes to override veto? Which would mean, the auto companies will have to survive until after January 20th or no one will save them. That is the most likely scenario.

GM is reportedly in the most trouble at this time, although I am skeptical of this entire bailout of the auto companies. They are making huge profits overseas, just not in America. Could it be that their main ambition is to bust the UAW union once and for all. Make them show us the books, would be my suggestion.

1. Showing the books should be mandatory for any bail out.
The Dems should go for a vote anyways just to heap more negative opinion on the repugs if it does fail. When they are down, is always the best time to kick them.

2. I don't think he would. I certainly haven't seen him make any such suggestion. nt

3. If there wasn't Union jobs involved here
the money would have already be handed over no questions asked.

4. Bush already said he wants it passed this (next) week.
I think it might have been in order to give it the kiss of death, but I think he'd have to sign it or remove all doubt of his own stupidity. He can't explain reverse psychology to his loyal believers, they won't get it.
