John King or David Gregory?
I am sickened that David will be seating in the big chair at MTP. I still can't get the image out of my mind of him dancing and rapping with rove. That shit was so not FUNNY.

Now John King taking over from wolf blitzer is definitely an upgrade. He's not just a figurehead with interesting parentage like anderson cooper. King may not be the best, but he definitely can handle the job. Guess I can now sleep later on Sunday morning or just watch Cspan until 11am.

ps.
Gwen Ifill and Chuck Todd was rob big time.

1. Yep I guess
I won't be watching MTP anymore. Of course to be honest I haven't been watching it much for the few months anyway!

3. Me too
but I was so hoping that Gwen or Chucky would get it. I wonder what kind of consolation prize NBC is going to give Chuck to keep him at the network?

2. I would have prefered Chuck Todd as he is only semi-annoying

5. He'll probably be next
in 10 years or so. David Gregory can be good, I've seen him hit hard on some of the war lies for a while there. Maybe he just knew to get MTP you have to be a shill.

6. Heard that Todd got spanked pretty hard for leaking the "Big Announcement"
earlier this week. Supposedly, Todd felt that Gregory did some extraordinary "acrobats" to get into this gig. C'mon--Gwen never had a chance. Its MSNBC.

8. Exactly
that's why I thought she did. Hell they give rachel her own show. But then she had Keith fighting for her.

9. Neither one, although I like John King. I'm up & down with Gregory. Even Lauer would be better.
I used to like Gregory, but lately he seems to be showing the colors of being an asshole. As far as him dancing and rapping with Rove, that didn't bother me at all. I thought it was funny even though I hate Rove's guts.

MTP needs a moderator who is tough enough to make the politicans answer the questions posed to them, not give speeches about something else. I don't think Gregory is tough enough to do that. John King is too nice a guy. I can't see him playing tough with the questions either.

Matt Lauer, as much as he is disliked around here, would probably be way better than Gregory. Even Katie Couric would probably be more suited than Gregory for a show like MTP.

It's obviously King. Both are equal media whores, so...
with that out of the way, the only thing left is fuckability. Jon King is MUCH more fuckable than Gregory.

12. I don't care for any of them.
Gwen Ifill and Chuck Todd weren't robbed. I don't think they were ever up for consideration. I'm lost about who should have been chosen as that show has sucked since they changed the format years ago.

13. I'm glad you posted this:
When I was a kid, MTP was a show moderated by Spivak (RWer) but there were 4 panelists on who were legitimate journalists.

Over the years, it evolved into "Meet the Tim".

Tim with his "gotcha" quotes from other press sources I supposed qualified as "Meeting the Press".

It's a transparent script nowadays...

18. MTP ... should have been Gwen or Chuckie T. I love John King for ...
... his comment when Anderson Cooper showed him the Fred Armisen clip from SNL ... with him mixing all the states around on the "magic map."

John King said, "I'm going to go on Lou Dobbs and switch all the borders around, and say, 'What borders, Lou?' " I about wet my pants. John King is serious and straightforward, but showed that night that he has a wickedly dry wit.
