2. He's a super credible journalist who

writes for the New Yorker. He broke the Mai Lai story, has CIA, FBI and Department of Defense people who pass him information, he broke the Taguba report to the news. If you listen to him or read his writings, you can be spot on that its the real skinny.

3. He's probably the first reporter to...

... have an in-depth story on the My Lai massacres. In that sense, he's a sort of Washington journalism legend. He's broken a number of embarrassing stories over the years, and he was one of the first to write in considerable detail about bad intelligence and about US torture in Iraq. He has a book coming out about Iraq and the torture business which will probably be more specific about some the things the public has not yet seen from the army investigations.
