3. The Obama team leaked all of the names as trial balloons.
It's the same exact thing they did with the VP. There was a different name announced every week.

Many people aren't "thrilled" about this team (me, mostly because it's recycled, but I digress and haven't bitched too much on DU).

Over 60% thought Hillary was a good pick. Gates was widely praised. Republicans said they approved of the Holder pick meaning easy confirmation. Susan Rice is widely praised. Napolitano is amazing.

There will be a small minority going bananas about these picks, but those people are irrelevant.

10. I disagree on this just a little bit.
Rather than the "Trial-Balloon" analogy, I think "hyperbaric oxygen therapy" is more appropriate.

You know...to keep heads from exploding...
