Warning Obama about Clinton as SOS makes me feel the same way
as when I was trying to warn my Rep about voting for the war in Iraq.

I see disaster coming and I want to do something to stop it, but it seems to be oh so popular.

I hope I'm wrong, but my stomach is telling me its gonna be a fiasco.

Talk about being overly dramatic.

28. Ok
She made a mistake. Only it wasn't just bush intel, it was the cia. They were screwing with all of us, and lets hope Obama will stop that shit.

Bill probably trusted the cia then, i doubt he does now.

Anyway, the sos doesn't start wars. But i'd bet she can stop one, kinda like bill did when has was in.

29. But it wasn't just the CIA.
Scott Ritter and the UN inspection teams were in Iraq in 1999. Even if Saddam had attempted to re-arm Iraq after that, there is no fucking way in Hell he could have ever had the amount of weapons that the Bush Crime Family claimed he did.

The PNAC agenda was bullshit from day one and the Clintons more than anybody KNEW it was bullshit, because they got the letter from PNAC in 1998 just begging for an invasion of Iraq.

Records: Senators who OK'd war didn't read key report
7:25 a.m. EDT, May 29, 2007

http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/05/28/clinton.iraq/index.html

Story Highlights
• Hillary Clinton, John McCain and most others in Congress didn't read document
• Newspaper: Six senators, a few House members logged as reading report
• Most in Congress were briefed several times, read summary of report
• Report was wrong about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq

Didn't Condi make a major mistake by not reading an important document?

incapable she and her people are of getting out of their former bad habits. We have seen those behaviors at work with this nomination process. Obama thinks he can get her to stop it, but I don't think she's capable of it. Its too ingrained.

18. Good grief. Obama has been in the Senate with Hillary Clinton.
He has worked with her and campaigned against her. He knows her and Bill personally. He knows the people who worked for Bill during his administration. Do you seriously think that after fighting with her for the nomination for almost two years he doesn't know or understand the Clintons? Do you want us to think some anonymous person on the Internet who has never even met the Clintons "knows" them better than a guy who has worked both with and against them for years?

Please. :eyes:

27. After the at-the-time world's most craptacular campaign ever run, it's not remotely plausible...
To contend that Obama is being naive about Clintonian lack of moral restraint.

Clearly he thinks he can corral her - either thru genuine professional friendship, or some other means that hasn't been discussed much. Or a combination, of course - carrots and sticks are tried-and-true. And if he's wrong, and he can't corral her sufficiently, well, she still serves at the pleasure of the President.

20. My main objection is that it looks like neoliberalism & corporate globalism will remain the order
of the day. It's not that I didn't pretty much expect this to be the case, but until the pick of Clinton for S.o.S., I held out a little bit of hope that there might be a different tack in the offing.

But I feel like now we're pretty much guaranteed a continuance of AIPAC/Likud/corporatist/militarist dominated foreign policy. I think it totally sucks.

I knew that what this election was fundamentally about was choosing the best manager for the Empire. I had just hoped that it would be a manager with some different influences.

after all, I wasn't president of Harvard Law Review, I wasn't a lawyer, and I didn't run a brilliant campaign. Not to say he can't be criticized but I elected him to make the decisions that would be way out of my league. There is a reason Bush failed, he wasn't intellectually smart enough.
