On second thought, can we have Sarah Palin back as vice president? Because just think of all the awesome episodes of Theater of the Absurd we're going to miss.

A prime example came Thursday, when the wilderness governor took a trip to a Wasilla turkey farm to perform the time-honored Thanksgiving tradition of allowing a turkey to live another day. Presidents have been doing this for years, but apparently in Alaska they do things a little differently.

After the pardoning ceremony, the governor stopped for an impromptu hard-hitting interview with a local TV station, where she rattled on about her experiences on the campaign trial, and what she's thankful for, and what she's cooking for Thanksgiving dinner, apparently oblivious to the bloody carnage being perpetrated just over her shoulder, where a worker was stuffing big turkeys upside down into some sort of turkey chipper death machine. It could have been a scene out of a Coen brothers movie. The worker for a time observed the interview taking place with a "Do they know what I'm doing back here?" kind of look on his face, then got back to work draining the lifeblood from the hapless creatures.

The video of the surreal scene — Palin was asked what she thought of the event, and she replied "It was neat," as a turkey's death kicks were visible in the background — was an instant YouTube hit.

Looks like Tina Fey may have to make another "SNL" appearance.

and now you have insulted me by telling me I should be medicated or need some kind of mental help. That is really fucked up on your part. Have you any idea how you insulted me? Sarah Palin makes me very angry and I express it.

I stand by everything I have said. That interview was meant to seen by people like me but we got the heads up in time to turn it off.

The poster said "you should see what coyotes do to them" and I asked WHY we SHOULD see (what coyotes do to them). For that you jump all over me, defending what Palin did in my eyes and then you advise me to get some mental help. Fucking hell!

Like a coyote tearing up a turkey is funny? Or maybe what happened to the TV turkey is nothing compared to what a coyote does to a turkey? So it makes the TV turkeys death comical some how? Sorry guys but this one went right over my head.

I think because I'm a vegetarian it's taken away my jokey side when it comes to killing animals.

I suppose you agree that because I'm passionate about something near and dear to me it gives someone the right to tell me I need some form of mental help. According to that logic I think that puts many people here in need of the same kind of help

I took your initial response the wrong way and misunderstood you. I thought you were talking about the video itself, not the coyote comment. I couldn't figure out why you said you should have to see something you didn't have to see (meaning the vid). Sorry for my confusion.

I didn't, however, imply that you needed medication or that you're in need of mental help (I'm bipolar, I don't use mental illness as an insult). I said "meditation", not medication. Telling someone to relax isn't the same as saying they need mental help.

Anyways, I am honestly sorry I misunderstood your initial reply, which led to all this.

20. I'm so glad you post this because

I was about to leave for the day and I was pretty upset because I know I go a bit mental when it comes to animals and I don't think rationally.
As far as the mental help bit, I understand, I was being over sensitive. While I'm not clinically bipolar, I just act that way.

I'm very sorry I swore at you. I've spent the last two days arguing with Repugs on my wild horse blog and I have been on edge. I will try the meditation though.

Besides, being called a "clever Dick" actually made my day. All my favorite shows are British comedies (Young Ones, Blackadder, Red Dwarf, Fry And Laurie, Monty Python, etc), so actually being called one of the names John Cleese used is neat! ;)
