Obama has Clinton people in his transition team and cabinet?!?!?!?!?
You mean, he has people from the only recent Democratic presidency to help his own transition to the Presidency?
He has people EXPERIENCED with the executive branch helping him out?

The nerve.

Anything less than picking random people off the street, people with no experience working in Washington and in the White House, is not change we can believe in.

1. Seriously!
If he doesn't appoint my dad's high-school dropout mechanic to Secretary of Transportation, I'm voting Green in '12!

2. We don't want 1994 redux. Voters gave us a conditional chance to accomplish. Period.

4. That doesn't mean that these people won't back Obama and go rogue.
C'mon. They'll be loyal and the first sniff of disloyality you can bet Obama will be done with them.

7. There are MANY highly competent Dems who were NOT part of the Clinton Admin

The point is, however, that in national governance the landscape is so complex and daunting that "bureacracy" really shapes executive decision to a large degree. Once Obama made the decision to staff his transition with key Clinton people the dye was cast as to who would be brought to the table. THAT'S JUST THE WAY IT IS.

8. Obama is keeping his promise.
Putting people to work!! Giving jobs to the previously unemployeed former Clinton administration. Seriously, I think they did a great job executing Clinton's plan and now with mistakes behind them and lots of experience, they'll do even better with Obama.

9. I'm starting to get irritable...
even rude on DU. 'This isn't the change we voted for'. The Buddha says nothing is ever the same. I don't doubt Obama will bring change. Even with old players, Obama has a way of making things a bit new.
