Hey! Where's Colon Bowel during all this TANG/AWOL stuff? Are they
hiding his ass in the cellar or something? Are they afraid that he might make another remark about how disgraceful, or whatever it is, that rich kids didn't have to serve in Viet Nam like middle and lower class kids did? Someone should ask old Colon how he feels. He'll either kill off any respect some in the country may have for him (if that's even possible), or have to stand by his words.

1. He was making some kind of fluff speech today at Georgetown U.
European-U.S. relations. He took softball questions at the end. When asked about differences with some of Bush's policies, Bowel said they weren't all that big, only nuanced. :puke:

3. Oh. Well then, someone needs to ask him straight up, do you think that
your commander is chief is a coward and a liar?

And then go tell him to report for duty to Al Gore. That's his real boss.

5. Colon got forced applause from the audience. Moments passed, and
only then would they give him a sporadic standing ovation.

2. He's probably writhing over the fact he's been such a "good soldier"
in servitude to a snarling, lying brat. No matter. I've lost all the respect I ever had for Powell.

6. He spoke out on this issue a while ago
from his book...

http://george.loper.org/~george/archives/2004/Feb/842.html

"I particularly condemn the way our political leaders supplied the manpower for that war," he wrote. "The policies -- determining who would be drafted and who would be deferred, who would serve and who would escape, who would die and who would live -- were an anti-democratic disgrace. I am angry that so many sons of the powerful and well placed and so many professional athletes (who were probably healthier than any of us) managed to wangle slots in Reserve and National Guard units. Of the many tragedies of Vietnam, this raw class discrimination strikes me as the most damaging to the ideal that all Americans are created equal and owe equal allegiance to our country."

7. Colin's Ticket Is Punched...Put A Fork In Him
The Abu Gabril mess seemed to be the end of Colin as a show horse for this regime. He's been invisible since (that babe yanked the camera off of him)...including at the GOOP Whorefest and on the campaign trail. What a contrast to 2000 when he and Stormin' Norman were out stompin' for their manchild. Now even Franks treads lightly.

Powell has said he's out for a second term...and even if he didn't say so, the PNAC knives were out for him long ago. He was the "adult" in the U.N....now he and the U.N. are no longer needed. The job will go to a Wolfie or Feith or other PNAC'er to complete the foreign policy armageddon.
