Now That The Election Season is Over: Who Will Be The New Host Of Meet The Press?
Edited on Sat Nov-15-08 09:54 PM by malik flavors
The election season is over, and that means that Tom Brokaw will be departing Meet The Press and going back to doing his specials and whatnot, so I wonder who's going to be the next official host?

My guess is that it will be David Gregory, but i'm keeping my fingers crossed for Gwen Ifill. I think she would be the best person to follow in the foot steps of the late, great Tim Russert.

2. Please no Fuckin Way......
he is annoying and partisan, he has openly stated that he is a Republican
and thats the last thing you need on a show with that caliber.

Unusual with the David Gregory faint support, whats up with that???

23. Yes he has,
during the debates he did mention something about being Republican or as us
Republican... something to that effect.

Need to find the video.

I remember thinking wow.. thats really not a surprise and why are you defending
him anyway???

26. Why shouldn't I? You act like he's Rush Limbough or something.
I have no problem with David Gregory. I don't love him, but I don't think he's overly biased. I've seen him say just as much positive about Obama as negative.

I'm also and open-minded person that likes to hear the opinions of people that i might not agree with 100% of the time. You can't see the whole picture if you're only getting one side of the story. Maybe you should branch out a bit, and expand your mind.

28. Already did, and
what the Right has to offer I want no part of it, with the kind of hatred and
division they offer, its enough for me to switch off their psycho babble.

So, good luck to you and your knowing what the otherside does meme...

3. Ifell is too nice and Gregory doesn't manage guests well
I think it will be one of the two rising stars: Maddow or Todd.

16. Absolutely not. MTP must have a single host.
Preferably someone with thick black rim glasses, and that smokes cigs.

24. Gwen Ifill used to work at NBC News. I hope they would choose her for MTP.
I'd prefer if it were a group of 4 to 6 journalists asking questions. Gwen Ifill could be the host or the chief amongst them.

25. I think it's likely going to be someone who currently works there
Either Gregory or Todd. I think Ifill would be a good pick too. I don't care for Gregory myself (and I'll back up what other said that he's a Republican). They may even wait until the beginning of the year to hand it off to the new person.

31. I was sure that Douche Gregory was gonna get it
But that's when I assumed they would pull the plug on his "Racist Lies about the White House" show after the election. Instead they changed the name and made it permanent. Douche ain't working 6 days a week, so he's probably out.

Chuck Fraud maybe? He's certainly got nothing better to do in between elections.

34. if its Matthews, I will not watch,
I have had it up to my head, and I'm pretty short, with that Clinton hater. Schuster lost me with that "pimping" comment. I think Gregory is the most likely. I can easily see him doing it.

39. There's next to zero chance of Matthews getting it. He's leaving MSNBC to run for Senate
barring any extenuating circumstances, it's basically a done deal right now.

40. I hope he loses,
and I will give money to who runs against him. We don't need a Clinton hater in Congress, especially if she is Sec of State. Tho I would love to see Hill smack him down on the Senate floor.

37. David Shuster would be perfec, he has that Russert way of using peoples' inconsistencies to pwn them
unfortunately he's not a big name and I would bet he has no shot at getting it.

I think they'll go back to a panel format, probably with Chuck Todd leading it.
