Bush: I Called President Clinton For Advice On My Meeting With Obama

This is beyond bizarre imo. Was the little man so intimidated by PE Obama he needed tips and encouragement on being gracious?

Bush: I Called President Clinton For Advice On My Meeting With Obama

CNN | November 11, 2008 06:01 PM

From CNN... President Bush says he called President Clinton for advice before he met with Obama Monday.

In the wide ranging interview, the president also discussed his meeting with President-elect Barack Obama Monday, and said he consulted former President Bill Clinton before his meeting with the future commander-in-chief.

"I remember the conversation I had with my predecessor Bill Clinton," Bush said. As a matter of fact {I} called him yesterday and said, 'Bill, I'm getting ready to meet with the new president and I remember how gracious you were to me. I hope I can be as gracious to President-elect Obama as you were to me."

Bush described the atmosphere in his Oval Office meeting with Obama as "relaxed" and said he offered the future president advice on the transition process. Bush also said Obama was specifically interested in how his two young daughters would adjust to life in the White House.

1. Why didn't he call his own daddy?
My guess is that he was hoping to get something to cause a divide between Obama and Bill.

3. Cause in JR's own mind, he really *IS* a uniter and not a divider and this was his attempts
to appear gracious and chummy.

2. In all.... fairness... to Junior, his actual quote doesn't mean he actually asked for advice
it says he just called Bill.

IMO, Junior has always gotten into ACTING the part of President and not actually doing the real work to BE the POTUS.

He's now playing the part of a departing POTUS and calling Bill was a part of that.
