Don't they know they are hurting the institution of marriage?
I thought marriage was about love and partnership and spending a life together by choice. It should not be an elitist club only granted to those who fit a profile of uniformity.

This is hurting marriage. It's making me ashamed to be married.

It's so stupidly easy. If you are a man and think marriage is between a man and a woman, then by all means, marry a woman. If you are a woman and think marriage is between a man and a woman, then by all means, marry a man. But what gives anyone the right to tell someone else who they should or should not marry?

I just don't get it. Is it some kind of punishment to deny folks the right to marry?

3. well, apart from the fact that marriage as we currently see it is a patriarchal institution for
which I have never seen an actual need, my feeling is that if people want their love and caring publicly recognized, that is fine with me.

I repeatedly ask the "marriage is between a man and a woman" crowd how anyone else's marriage affects theirs--unless, of course, they are having affairs. dead silence.
