ESPN's Jim Rome Rocks!!! Slams the scrub
ESPN Sports Commentator posted this on his web site I thought it was great: (Read all the way to the end it's worth it)

The Iraqi soccer team has a chance for just its second medal ever in the Olympics. It's amazing how much effective these guys are without that psychopathic, homicidal nut, Uday Hussein running the show. Who wouldn't perform better knowing that a missed penalty kick could result in getting your finger nails ripped off? The only thing better than the Iraqi's coming out of nowhere to possibly medal is President Bush showing up and basically taking credit for it. While you're over there backslapping, why don't you ask their mid-fielder if he knows were those WMD's are. No one else seems to.

1. rome
That's very cool. Glad to read it - thanks!

I usually find Rome too self-indulgent to enjoy, but perhaps I've been too hasty in my judgment.

I haven't followed Rome in years - is he progressive? Never seemed like that back when he was first on AM.

6. I think Rome's a closet lefty.
Some may think he's obnoxious, but I like him. He tries to keep apolitical on his show, but I can tell he leans left on a lot of issues:

1. He doesn't tolerate homophobia in sports, whether it be Jeremy Shockey and Terrell Owens making homophobic remarks, or the anti-gay flap at Dodger Stadium.
2. Laid into Bill O'Reilly on one show when he found out that his show was pre-empted for 2 hours in one market in favor of O'Lielly. Encouraged his Clones in that area to harrass the GM of the station into restoring the show in its entirety.
3. During on of the annual Smack-Offs, told the Repuke clones to lay off the RW rhetoric in their phone calls.
4. Banned one long-time caller for making an anti-Semitic remark.

Rome is not at all shy about ripping into shrub or ahhhhnold, who he once referred to as 'The Myfatherwasanazinator'!
