God, they're eating their own, and it's beautiful.

One of the tastiest draughts was two nights ago on Fresh Air, was when a Heritage Foundation founder and national chairman of the American Conservative Union claimed to have voted for Obama (although I doubt him). He then proceded to trash Bush/Cheney and decry the trashing of the constitution and the de-intellectualization of the Republican Party. It was so lovely, I almost cried. It almost made me respect a Republican.

The only thing that could top that would be hearing the Karl Rove was tarred, feathered, and run out of Faux on a rail.

"Former Republican Congressman Mickey Edwards argues that the conservative movement has strayed from its founding principles. His book, Reclaiming Conservatism, offers a critique of the movement's current incarnation — and a blueprint for its future success."
