1. More Virginia News
Another relevant item:

RICHMOND, Sept. 7 -- Virginia election officials on Tuesday denied a spot on November's presidential ballot to independent candidate Ralph Nader, and an independent review of the signatures he submitted suggests that thousands of them were collected illegally by people who do not live in Virginia.

Jean R. Jensen, secretary of the State Board of Elections, said Tuesday that registrars across the state had verified 7,342 signatures for Nader, well short of the required 10,000. Candidates for the Libertarian Party and the Constitution Party collected the required number of signatures and will appear on the ballot, Jensen said....

2. Absolutely
The thing that pissed me off the most about Gore's campaign was the way they wrote off numerous states.

4. It seems people forget about NoVA...
There are a lot of well educated, pissed off people up here. I've gotten several to register and vote. I think writing of VA is a mistake.

of what internal polls are telling them, they should have atleast put it in the same category as NC, AZ, and CO...Hell, VA may actually be closer than WV!

I'm starting to worry that the Kerry campaign is writing off states like Gore did in '00. It's not quite the same way, but there were several states that Gore may have won if more resources were placed in them - OH and NV are two. Granted, Gore also had that dipshit Nader campaigning in states that shouldn't have been so close (WI, IA, MN, and OR).

I suppose the campaign is looking at how things will be after the debates. I think that will give them an indication of how resources will be allocated in that last crucial month.
