33. No, there is another.

A technical correction: he left the Democratic Party in 2006. So his options are:

1. Stop caucusing with the Democratic Party in the Senate.
2. Resign because he "can no longer effectively represent the state of Connecticut in the Senate".

We don't need that McBush lapdog, traitor, rethug convention Obama basher.

In fact, it would be an insult if he remains associated with the Dems in any way. He made his choice - get the fuck outta of our party Joe. No longer invited!

34. CT should start a petition.

Dear Senator Lieberman,

Given that your recent decision to support the Republican nominee for president has irreparably damaged your ability to represent the State of Connecticut in the US Senate effectively, i.e. to "bring home the bacon",

that this decision was against the overwhelming majority of the residents in Connecticut,

and knowing that you only want to do that which is best for our State,

we, the citizens of Connecticut, herein urge you to resign your office in the United States Senate making way for a more effective representative.

Signed,
THE ENTIRE FUCKING STATE

P.S. Nothing personal.

27. Lieberman has no options left
The Republican Party dislikes Lieberman as much as the Democratic Party does, that's why McCain didn't get to pick him for VP. The only leading Republicans who really supported Old Joe were George W. Bush and John McCain, the rest were just using him to embarrass Democrats. Lieberman served to blunt criticism of Bush's Iraq war blunders by giving a bipartisan gloss to Bush's policies. Once Lieberman campaigned for McCain he lost his last shreds of Democratic identidy anyway. Unlike an "Independent" like Bernie Saunders, Lieberman is now truly a man without a real welcome in any Party.

Lieberman is now left with whatever power a single Senate vote gives him, nothing more.

29. My guess, based on what he said, is that he's losing his chairmanships, and
the possible crumb he may have been given could have been that he could remain on committees that he wanted. Now he's gotta see what the Repugs will offer him, committee-wise. He got some type of walking papers, but we don't know if the Dems have offered to let him be a temp for the time being.

that slimey liitle rat standing behind mccain and palin smirking and mouthing their stump speeches, I want him out of the dem party. He stood with mccain in iraq and even corrected him about the difference between sunni and shia.

he's a hawk and he'll alway vote with the pukes when it comes to any country that may harm israel whether they're a threat or not. that's been enough to drum him out of the party in my opinion.he has generally voted with dems on social issues, so what's he gonna do threaten to vote down healthcare reform. if that's his angle he'll have his disgruntled constituency in ct to deal with.

dems in ct created this nightmare when they wouldn't vote for a good dem, ned lamont in 06, even after lieberliar had already left the reservation and went Indie, so you guys fix it. spam his ass when important legislature you want passed. hold his shriveled wrinkled up feet to the fire.

He needs to get his walking papers today. go ahead joe take that step to the other side. you've been over there for years anyway, make it official.
