PALIN: Didn't know Africa was a Continent?!?! (VIDEO LINK INCLUDED)
Edited on Wed Nov-05-08 11:13 PM by RoadRage
I apologize if this has already been posted - please let me know if it has (i searched and didn't find anything).

Check this video out.. Carl Cameron was on O'Reilly tonight for 5 full minutes just dishing out more dirt then possible about Palin and the last couple of weeks about the campaign. We didn't dodge a bullet.. we dodged a Nuclear Bomb. Scroll 1/2 down the page to watch the video... it would almost be sad, if her getting elected wouldn't have been a threat to every American's life. :eyes:

***********************************************
Now that the 2008 election is over, reporters are spilling all the juciest, and previously off the record, gossip from the campaign trail. Much of it is about the infighting between Palin and McCain's staff, as Newsweek's treasure trove of post-election gossip reveals. However, perhaps one of the most astounding and previously unknown tidbits about Sarah Palin has to do with her already dubious grasp of geography. According to Fox News Chief Political Correspondent Carl Cameron, there was great concern within the McCain campaign that Palin lacked "a degree of knowledgeability necessary to be a running mate, a vice president, a heartbeat away from the presidency," in part because she didn't know which countries were in NAFTA, and she "didn't understand that Africa was a continent, rather than a series, a country just in itself."

***UPDATE*** Fox News Chief Political Correspondent Carl Cameron appeared on The O'Reilly Factor tonight and described in much fuller detail the truly astonishing behavior, and lack of knowledge, of Sarah Palin on the campaign trail, as well as the nasty infighting that resulted from, some would say, Palin's "diva" behavior. (Earlier today, Palin said reports of her "diva" behavior and any tension within the campaign were "absolutely false.")

Cameron relates how McCain aides were terrified of Palin's lack of knowledge of international and national issues, and even basic civics. Cameron reports that Palin was unfamiliar with the concept of "American exceptionalism," and that not only did she not understand that Africa was a continent rather than a single country but also that during debate prep Palin was unable to name all the nations in North America.

Palin was apparently a nightmare for her campaign staff to deal with. She refused preparation help for her interview with Katie Couric and then blamed her staff, specifically Nicole Wallace, when the interview was rightly panned as a disaster. After the Couric interview, Palin turned nasty with her staff and began to accuse them of mishandling her. Palin would view press clippings of herself in the morning and throw "tantrums" over the negative coverage. There were times when she would be so nasty and angry that her staff was reduced to tears.

5. Well.. at least he had the guy ON.. and he didn't
cut him of 10 times in 1 minute like he normally does.. so I think in O'Rielly's staunch conservative way.. he wants this to get out now.. and get every republican over the idea of Palin for 2012.. so they can move along and try to find a "viable" candidate for '12.

I think he's well aware that unless Obama just goes on vacation from now until '12.. he can beat her with his eyes closed and his hands tied behind his back. That's freaking out all fiscal conservatives who are pretty much fed up with the Religious Right uneducated bible thumpers running "their" party.

So, he plans on throwing her under McCain's Straight Talk express now in order to get her outta the way for someone better to get started now. Not surprising really.

11. FOX has had this news before now, she's a sacrificial lamb.
They seem to be throwing her under the bus as a way to deflect criticism of McCain.

But who was the idiot who chose her.

What is more stupid, being Palin, or CHOOSING Palin?

14. This is McCain's last run for Prez; Sarah will be back soon unless she is stopped by the GOP itself
So frankly I do not care if the GOP throws her under the Straight Talk Express and backs up a few times. At this point she is more dangerous to the country than John McCain--her religious fanaticism, utter lack of interest in the Constitution, and ignorance about the entire world make her a danger. Worse than W, in her own way. Forget McCain--he's old and won't run again.

3. Every time I see stories
about someone treating staff that way, I simply cannot understand why any staff person would tolerate such behavior. And, sadly, you hear and see these stories all the time.

Russia is HUGE and LOOKS like a continent.. so i'm sure she was just totally confused by the whole "mass of lands" things. :eyes:

Can you imagine if she would have had to be president.. and she met someone from Africa? Hi... your country is "awesome". Tawd & I have always wanted to ride on elephants shoot lions and stuff, can we come visit?

25. "No child except home schooled ones left behind" I actually had a kid tell me at a public venue one
time tell me, "I can't answer that (environmental question) because I am home-schooled." Sadly, I wasn't sure if he was apologizing or bragging.

15. She and chimpy formerly never traveled abroad together

This is, to me, a slightly unsettling little coincidence; if a screenwriter wrote it, I probably wouldn't buy it:

"Africa is a nation that suffers from incredible disease."

What a hilarious gasbag. Hey Billo, she's not taking a middle school social studies test in January!

Can you imagine him saying the same thing about Obama in the same situation?
