Please give me one good reason why * should be ahead?
I'm sorry, but 60 something percent think we are going in the wrong direction but he'll win? :wtf:

I'm sorry folks but I have to agree with my 70 year old friend. She is furious at the media. She honestly considers them to be traitors. "They're gonna steal the election and the media is helping them do it!" I have to say that I agree. Will the American people put up with * for four more years?

1. Because, he has all the media outlets in his back pocket
And they are kissing his sorry ass 24/7.
Now the question is did they promise the media somthing or threaten them?

18. Unfortunately, they don't have to promise
the media anything..the media just wants them to win because it's Big Business and the bushco are nothing if not for big business.

Kerry will regulate and 4 companies won't own all the media..it's a matter financial greed and survival on their part..and it shows.

But they are treasonous in their actions and should be indicted.

We are being played. Everyday on the hour. Like all the other memes out there. Kerry is unlikeable. Bush is likeable. It's a crock of shit we get fed everyday.

I don't know what to think, is Democracy going down with this pravada we have for a media?

5. Because of the pounding Kerry has been getting from the media
One month of showing Swift Boat ads for free, negative headlines about Kerry, no fact checking during the RNC coverage, etc. Kerry is doing pretty well despite the beating by the media.

14. War in Iraq
Bush is fighting the War on Terror in Iraq. Terrorists have not struck USA since, so he is therefore percieved to be winning.

21. GOP = Good Old Pedophiles

There are people who believe in "family values" meaning that the male head of the household is the lord over the family, and the wife and children are chattel he may use as he wishes. They will not readily cede what they perceive as their God-given right to commit incest. They will vote for Bush. There are millions of them.

But they are a minority and the polls and the media are lying. Bush may have some hard-core pedophile supporters, funded by Richard Mellon Scaife, and a media that likes deregulation, but the vast majority of people in this country prefer Kerry.

How do I know? Well, add to the people who voted for Gore the following:

Those who voted for Nader but are so angry at Bush that they will vote for Kerry this time instead of Nader or Cobb.

Those who wanted to vote for Gore but were disenfranchised and have been working night and day since 2000 to see that they regain the right to vote.

Those who voted for Bush and ended up losing their jobs, their pension plans, and/or their kids to Bush policies.

Those who hadn't voted, but decided after seeing F9/11 that it was important to register and vote.

Those who voted for Bush but have been convinced by their spouses, relatives, friends, coworkers, or those nice young kids knocking at their doors or talking to them on the street, that they made a mistake they don't intend to repeat.

And many, many more.

We were the majority last time. We're a super majority this time.

Kerry in a landslide!

22. fear
Childhood fear is what bush is exploiting. "You can't make it without me."

Kerry and other well-placed grownups can help us dispel the illusion of helplessness.

23. Fear fear fear
I think most of the people are either convinced that Kerry won't fight against the terrorists or that they can't change Presidents in the middle of this mess. (I overheard a conversation in a restaurant earlier this week where people were saying that it "would take John Kerry four years to get the knowledge that Bush has on Iraq." )

I agree that the media isn't helping any.

24. The media has thrown a veil over our country...
most don't bother to peer through. What we need is VISABILITY! They say that one bumpersticker is worth more voting pressure that a $500.00 donation. So get those bumper's STUCK! Sooner or later, people will stop believing the propaganda and start using their senses...

Edited on Thu Sep-09-04 09:48 PM by Leilani
1.People feel Bush will be tougher on terrorism.

2.Bush has run a more effective campaign...it has been mean & dirty, but he has framed the issues for the last 4-6weeks. When Kerry was framing the issues, he was ahead. The Swiftboat stuff did major damage because it was out there for so long with no response.

Do I think Kerry can still win? Yes!

26. Because Kerry ran his early campaign like a typical wimpy Democrat!
Flame me all you want, but that's the fucking truth.

Kerry's early campaign was typical "nice" Democrat bullshit and we are all paying for it now.

Kerry could have put Bush away had he spent all of that money slamming Bush, but he chose to waste the money on "feel good" ads that are now long forgotten.

Money was wasted, opportunities lost. Now we look reactionary and Bush has the momentum.

Kerry can and still should win, but what a fuck up we've seen from our side yet again.
