Seen it on web comments multiple places, just heard McCain campaign person on NPR. Radio OFF now...

1. If people would just stop and think.

The customer could have tipped both the waiter/waitress the proper amount AND given the same amount to the poor man. But that wouldn't make as much as an impact in the reality challenged. And they would have to change the moral of the story.
We are our brother's keeper. We need to look out for each other.

disgusted me when I read it. I just thought, so typical of everything that is wrong about the modern Republican Party.

To bring the CEO thing in further, the CEO should be paying their taxes so that the bridges are being repaired and the children are getting an education. The homeless guy, would therefore no longer be homeless as he would be working on the roads, the diner gets to work quicker, so he earns more, the waiter gets more tips from the diner and the guy who does the roads and the CEO starts to get enough customers to alllow him to set up a chain of diners across the State. Everyone benefits from "spreading a bit of wealth".

A good tax and benefits system is WELFARE, which allows for a leg up not a hand out.

2. Waitress vs Homeless Guy vs CEO

Regarding the story going around about how a conservative supposedly didn't tip their Obama supporting waitress and instead decided to teach her a lesson by "spreading the wealth around" by giving the $10 tip to the homeless guy outside. If one bothers to think about the analogy it's flaws should be immediately obvious.

Waiters and waitresses don't make much of an hourly wage as most people know. Tipping is a way to make up for their hard work and low pay. Obama's middle class tax cut is like tipping the hard workers, the middle class, for a job well done. When the service is good we tip the waitress, NOT the CEO of Denny's! Does anyone really think that by tipping the waiter and not the CEO we're punishing that CEO or making anyone less likely to work hard and succeed? Ridiculous! Keep tipping your waitress! Don't let McCain make the waiter split his tip with the CEOs!
