I read this on some right-wing blog that I was kind of trolling on. Supposedly Indiana and Montana are going to be close too.

2. We fell slightly behind last week supposedly. This will show that reversed.

13. Ras shows us at +2. Last poll showed +1 for McCain.
Things are getting better, if not much.

3. NC will be a fun state to watch.
Over 1.5 million have voted here, already, Early voint hours are extended for Saturday, the last day of early voting. In 2004, 3.5 million voted, total.

Dems are leading right now, and I fully expect it to go to Obama and for Hagan to beat Dole.

NC is BLUE!

4. I drove through NC about ten days ago
and not just on the Interstate, either. There was a disturbing lack of signs for Sen. Obama, and we drove through towns with sizable African-American populations. No dearth of McSame-Caribou signs, though...

6. My wife and I were going to my parents house in a Red town in my very blue state
We did not see a single Obama sign but did see tons of McFalin. When we got to my parents house I saw that their Obama sign had been stolen. Turns out that there are close to twice the Obama signs in this red town but people keep stealing them. We even have an epidemic of Obama sign stealing in my town. The town I live in is very blue with about a %50 black population.

11. I guess folks on the East coast don't use them as much
as they did when I was in WA state. It didn't matter if you were on street corners in Seattle or Shelton (out in the timber country) every commercial corner had loads of signs.

8. Signs have been in very short supply here. I volunteer and just got my sign last week.
I have noticed more signs in the last few days.

10. Mostly along Hwy 117
We did a day in Wilmington, that's where I noticed the most Obama signs. By the way, if you're lucky enough to get there, Front Street Brewery in the downtown area has great microbrew! As a transplanted Northwesterner, I'm always on the lookout for great beer!

On the way home, we went back to Wilmington (most of the trip was in the Myrtle Beach area) then drove up Hwy 117, looking for six-packs of local beer, and local barbecue sauces and salad dressings. We kept on the backroads all the way to Wilson, where we spent the night before hopping back on I-95 to drive back to NY.

I did some checking in supermarket parking lots as well, did not see many Obama bumper stickers there, either.

14. No Kidding. I grew up on Hwy 117
I/my parents live on 117 in a small town, the Pikeville/Fremont area, between Goldsboro and Wilson. Its right down the road from Charles B. Aycock Birthplace that you might have noticed signs for. I go to school just East of Wilson now in Greenville.

Theres a lot of McCain signs through that stretch even though there is a huge African American population in both Goldsboro and Wilson. Goldsboro High School is actually an all black school. I think a lot of the people there are too timid to put up signs for Obama because even though its diverse, the areas are still mostly segregated by choice. The areas that actually go blue in NC are the Research Triangle(Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill), Charlotte, and few counties before you get back into VA in the North-East part of the state. Hopefully, Asheville will help change the tide in the western areas and the black vote continues strong like they have been so far.

If you were looking for good BBQ, you should have stopped at Parkers when you were in Wilson. You can't even get a table there on Sundays, its always packed. My family eats there at least once a week.

15. When we came into Wilson
it was getting pretty dark, so I'll admit we wouldn't have seen too many signs at that time of the evening. We did pass through Mt. Olive, and my lady remarked that was the brand on some pickles she had just purchased. I figured the name "Mt. Olive" would have existed in many places, but later on, we saw that it was the Pickle Capital (of maybe the world!), and she was quite satisfied that she had been right!

We will definitely give Parker's a shot when we come back down, we stopped at Gardner's in Rocky Mount on the way out, just had to have some of that North Carolina barbecue before we got north of the Mason-Dixon line again!

Picked up some Scott's sauce that was made in Goldsboro, I'm looking forward to trying it!

Beautiful country you have down there, can't wait to get back!

12. There is a shortage because demand is so high everywhere.
When they come into an Obama office, there is a waiting list that is called and they are gone in a manner of hours.
Here's a picture of Obama in Raleigh yesterday from the News & Observer.
