(I think this is a good indiction that it is mainly Obama supporters voting early)

In Kansas, McCain Up 25 Among Those Likely to Vote … But Up By Just 4 Among Those Who Have Already Voted

John McCain defeats Barack Obama 58% to 37% in a Kansas election today, six days until votes are counted. McCain leads by 25 points among those voters SurveyUSA determines are likely to vote on or before Election Day — McCain leads by just 4 points among the Kansans who tell SurveyUSA they have already cast their ballots. Downticket, incumbent Republican Senator Pat Roberts, first elected in 1996, defeats Democrat Jim Slattery 2:1 to win his third term in office. 800 Kansas adults were interviewed 10/27/08 and 10/28/08. Of them, 712 were registered to vote. Of them, 626 were determined be likely to vote on or before election day.

1. Ok, now we know a state where McCain really gained some points.
They had him only up 12 in their last poll. But Kansas was never in play...

2. Yawn...one of those lost cause states, like my own.
Some places like to be on the cutting edge of change, others have to be dragged along kicking and screaming. As the old saying goes, if you're not moving forward, you're backing up, and I'll take progressive over regressive any time. (Yes, SC and Oklahoma, I'm talking about you.)

4. Ah.. that "LIKELY VOTER" shit. Too subjective to be accurate.
The "likely voter" model is outdated. It's based upon OLD ideas of who voted in 2000 or 2004 or sometimes just historically. This year is different. I disregard ALL "likely voter polling" because it operates on a faulty premise.

10. I live in a cul-de-sac and when I went to do errands yesterday...
the McCain signs had fucked and multiplied.

So I finally found the Dem HQ in Wichita (I REALLY didn't wanna go downtown) and got an Obama sign (and a Jim Slattery sign too) to thumb my nose at my silly neighbors.

I feel much better now.
