1. I wish one day we will stop counting by races and gender
I wish one day this will not be an issue and we will be defined by more than that.

We will just heard that people went to vote.

I guess I will never see this in my lifetime, but I have hope.

Thanks for the heads up.

2. As one of the states that has to keep up with this by the Justice Department
we are required by law to have that information posted.

3. I wouldn't mind seeing an Obama rally in Atlanta...maybe with a
cameo visit by, say, Oprah? Just a thought.

4. 30% of registered Athens-Clarke County voters had voted as of Tuesday!
Edited on Thu Oct-30-08 11:22 AM by CottonBear
This includes 18,000 early votes and at least 2,000 absentee ballots. There are about 60,000 registered voters in A-CC!

I voted early because I've got jury duty on election day and I doubt that voting is an excuse to get out of jury duty!

:hi: Hi Ruby!

7. I'm doing great! I'm at 32 weeks and 3 days!
I've gained 13 pounds and measure 31 centimeters! The baby's heartbeat sounds great and he's very active. Everything is "textbook perfect" according to my doctor! December 22 is the due date so it looks like we'll have quite a Christmas present! I told him that he needs to arrive in 2007 so I can deduct him on my 2007 taxes! (I've never had a tax deduction before except for a modest IRA contribution!)

I'm having a shower this weekend and one the next weekend as well. I'll PM you and let you know what I still need after the weekend of Nov. 8. I have several friends with little boys who've given me tons of stuff including all of the nursery furniture, bedding, lamps, monitors, toys, baby bathtub, breast pumps, strollers (for when he can sit up), and lots of clothes.

Someone has purchased the car seat and pack and play crib so I basically still need the basic layette clothes and things, the stroller that goes with the car seat, and misc. things like receiving blankets and maybe a baby swing. These items are on my registry, so maybe I'll get them on Saturday! We are doing cloth diapers so we'll need those supplies. My mom found some good quality diapers at Babys R Us (both regular and pre-folded.) We need diaper wraps, pins and a diaper pail and we'll be ready to change those poopy diapers!

How are you and your hubby and Carter? Is he excited about Halloween? You'll have to post pics of him in his costume!

CB :hi:

8. I'll be looking out for your PM
And we're all doing great. Carter is absolutely in love with the movie Cars so he is going as Lightning McQueen. He picked it out himself. I'll definitely post pics.

I'm really glad to hear things are going so well. I loved being pregnant. And whoever did my epidural - I think they deserve the Nobel Prize for medicine. Did not feel a thing. It was awesome.

10. Just how are voters identified by race?
Edited on Thu Oct-30-08 12:38 PM by Jersey Devil
Political party registration, OK, but is there a designation for race on voter registration forms? I thought that requiring race on voter forms was illegal. Do they require a physical description on voter registration forms to get around the illegality by claiming it is for "identification purposes"?
