The genius of Obama's healthcare plan...
now, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I was talking to my wife last night and ruminating over Obama's health plan and frankly, if it isn't just down right fucking clever!

He stated that, if you don't have a health plan, that a person could buy into the same type of health plan that the US congress has, but if you currently have a health plan, you CAN stay with it.

Never once does he ever say that you HAVE TO stay with your employers health plan.

And that is the basic brilliance of this plan and I believe the genius to bring the entire US under a national health care system. :)

Once people, who don't have health care, start signing up for the US congress type version see that their version is so much better than probably most of the employer provided health care plans out there, what keeps the average worker with a plan from dumping it and going with the US congress type version?

Nothing.

What keeps employers from cutting their overhead and telling their employees to get on the US congress type plan?

Nothing.

I believe that once this is rolled out and the plan being offered to those without healthcare is shown to be much better than the current variations offered to employees, there will be a tidal shift.

The man, our next president, is a clever fucking genius!!! :) I'm so glad he has come along in my lifetime. :)

1. Yep. If I remember correctly, this is similar to Wes Clark's plan
in 2004, btw.

But yeah, it's a transition to single payer. I just hope it can get passed. Insurance companies are going to throw everything they have into fighting it. Bill Ayers may have to come out of retirement to fight back, lol.

2. I agree..that would make it similar to other
country's plans. They also provide the option for people to carry their own private insurance. As George Carlin used to say "Sounds good to me, sounds good to me."
