Barack is a great politician and a good man.
We have had ample proof of both propositions but last night those traits were writ large in the special. There were many great moments in the broadcast but my favorite involved the retiree whose pension had been rifled by the company he had devoted his working life to. The man's story is all too familiar. Here was a hard working American who provided for his family and was planning on a decent retirement. When retirement funds are looted it is not just money that has been stolen but a large part of a person's dignity as well.
So when the man told his story to Barack, he responded not only to the financial hardship but also to the emotional damage. Obama could do nothing to restore the money but by volunteering that the man had earned his plans for retirement, he validated theretiree's self-image as a man. Any politician could have used the story to call for reform of pension fund law. Barack will do that. But he did more. He responded on a human level to a person in pain. And he relieved some of the lingering hurt. I am so proud to have cast my vote for Barack Obama. He will be a great president.

1. Well, Chieftain, I hate to rain on your parade but even as I type this
I'm being told there's now scientific evidence that Ayres did indeed write the Obama book, that Obama's palling around with terrorists, and naturally the liberal LA Times is suppressing videotape that would most certainly turn the whole fabric of the election inside out.........

It just doesn't get any better than this, 5 days before the election.........BTW, this guy who's now proven Ayres is the real author said the fact that Obama was editor of the Harvard Law Review was no more than winning a popularity contest, no real talent for thinking or writing involved there at all.

Gotta love these nuts.
