Obama's 30-minute Ad scores high TV ratings
A ratings win

A TV blog has the overnights

The Obama-mercial was fairly highly rated across the three broadcast networks (CBS, Fox and NBC) in the early metered market numbers. Between the three networks it scored an impressive combined 17.8/29 (household rating/share).

If ABC truly hoped that by being only scripted programming on broadcast for 8:00pm-8:30p, it would help out Pushing Daisies, that plan went awry. My guess is ABC was more likely just looking to burn off an episode. Daisies scored a 4.2/7, pretty much the identical rating it had a week ago up (4.2/6).

3. So that's over 20,000,000 houses, and 29% of all TVs. Not bad, not bad.

4. I wonder how CNN did?
they refused the program and I'd love to see how LK did too since he gave McBush the interview.

6. CNN tanked in my area
MSNBC was the 2nd highest rated in Palm Beach County/Treasure Coast, FL area. My station was number 1 (NBC).

7. I switched to CNN because MSNBC is not in HD here
and they cut off the Obama/Clinton event just after I switched over. Andy Cooper said, 'well, this is just a stump speech now, so in the interests of EQUAL TIME, we're going to cover McCain.' EQUAL TIME!?!?! Not only did you not show the Obama special, but you had McCrap on LKL. Classy move, CNN.

5. 29 share, wow
That is great.

In response, the media seems to be going overboard now to "fact check" his spending desires.

8. Considering Millions were in Sports Bars...
Watching it before the World Series... I have a feeling quite a few saw it - and many were people who probably wouldn't have tuned in on purpose... but most bars would have had it on Fox already.

So, that number is probably higher then being reported.

14. Umm, this was the lowest rated World Series ever
and I doubt many people went to Sports Bars on a Wednesday night to watch the last 3 1/2 innings of game 5. This isn't the Super Bowl were talking about.

9. Kick!
:kick:

Not to mention the views gained on BET, MSNBC, TV One, and Univision.

This was a MAJOR win for the Obama campaign.

I honestly am still shocked to see a DEMOCRATIC campaign being run so perfectly. Hell, I'm shocked to see ANY political campaign being run this perfectly. Obama and Axelrod are geniuses.

10. Axelrod is great.
Our previous gov (Vilsack), said he worked on his run for Gov and was amazing. He also said this is the best run campaign he has ever witnessed!
