Rocker Peter Frampton fuming over stolen Obama signs

CINCINNATI – Rocker Peter Frampton is wishing someone would show him the way to keep his Barack Obama yard signs from getting swiped.

The Grammy winner is complaining that signs showing his preference for the Democratic presidential candidate have been stolen repeatedly at his home in the upscale and predominantly Republican Cincinnati suburb of Indian Hill.

Frampton, 58, is so angry, he called The Cincinnati Enquirer asking to be interviewed.

The British-born singer of "Show Me the Way" and other hits told the newspaper that one reason he became a U.S. citizen was so he could vote. Now, he says his American rights to free speech and political speech are being violated and it "bugs" him.

Frampton said he has installed a video camera to catch the thieves.

2. I like Peter...

His Alive album kinda 'ruined' the record industry in that its success got non-musical entities involved, but Peter was always doing it for the right reasons, even though he nailed it with that album. And he's always been real.

I never knew his politics, but when I hear interviews with him talking about music (and I am a musician) he just strikes me as someone incredibly thoughtful and deep in perspective. The fact he's a Dem is to be expected in light of the other apolitical things he has said.

Good on ya Peter...bust those assholes.

29. That band was never the same after Pete left.
I always thought Clemson was a pretender. Frampton's style fit HP like a glove.

Best live show of the Seventies, besides. I saw them blow countless bands off the stage at the spectrum in Philly. no one could follow them.

28. +1000000000!!!
They were such a great band with Frammo. When he left I was shattered.

That's about the best live album ever - and it was the blueprint for 'Frampton Comes Alive,' packaging and all.

Dee Anthony knew a good idea when he saw one.

3. "Do you feel (pissed off) like I do? (because they keep stealing my damn signs!!!)"
Cincinnati? That's the last place I'd expect an old rock star to live.

I wonder if the assholes knew whose signs they were stealing?

25. No, I'm heading towards 50 (I'll turn 'old' on Thanksgiving).
I still have a twelve-year-old daughter (I'm an old mom).

I can't figure out if I want to have a mid-life crisis or not; I keep planning on one, but then I forget!

37. I just heard some Steven Wright.
"I was talking to my grandfather one day when I was a kid."

He asked, "How old are you now?"

I said, "Five."

He said, "When I was your age I was six."

44. Ah ...
about five years ago, that was it (January 2004). I decided to protest against the invasions (Iraq, and, to a lesser extent, other U.S. actions) in every march I heard about. I joined every organization I'd always wanted to join (for peace, etc.). My sister said, "Are you going through a mid-life crisis?" She would insist on meeting my kid at the San Diego Zoo (my marches and parades have generally been near there), so that, if I got arrested, she'd be there to take care of the kid. I decided to fight for justice, and march in the local Pride parades (as a straight support person out of PFLAG). I've had fun wearing all of the hippie-style clothes I've always wanted to wear. I swore I would never do anything that was not really meaningful to me anymore. I had a health crisis, that turned out not to be one, but I realized that life was too short. I've never missed the weekly peace vigil since. Mid-life crises are fun.

it's strange to me that Peter Frampton, who could live anywhere in the world, chose to live in Cincinnati. I mean, :wtf:

for the most part hes left alone... and also, if he were to need something you see what happens... because there arent a lot of celebs in the area ... he just calls up a news agency and blamo he gets an interview ;)

one of the perks of being one of the few celebs in the area.... you get whatever you ask for from the community..

Here in Saginaw (MI), we don't have problems with Obama signs being swiped. O should win the city by (I'd guess) 80-20 or even 85-15, and the signs are everywhere -- often three or four on each block. I have one out front which has been there, unmolested, for the better part of a month. I picked one up for the neighbor across the street which disappeared, but it turned out her sister wanted it. So I got her another one.
