Are you afraid to believe?
Are you afraid to hope? After 8 years of what seems to a lot of people to have been a rapid decline into fascism and dictatorship, are you fearful to believe that Barack Obama may finally break these chains that are locked around the soul of America? Will you be able to live in a world without manufactured fear?

Do you have that lingering fear that this will be one more election that will be stolen by lies and outright theft? Are you losing faith in the American people to have the ability to govern themselves?

Or are you absolutely certain Barack Obama is going to win this election and finally break this spell of fear and dread that has gripped our nation?

3. Yup. I am scared. I think there is hope but there is also
the vote fraud, vote suppression, supposed Bradley effect which I think is true after hearing how racist people are while canvassing, etc. They stole it through a right-wing Supreme Court in 2000 and the Court is more conservative now.

Scared yes. Happy while have solid gains in the Senate and House YES.

16. The racist people you encounter while canvassing
are the ones comprising the 40-something% supporting mccain, I'd think. Like Obama said last night, the Bradley Effect has not held him back so far.

Now, the voter suppression/fraud is truly scary...

7. I am very afraid and I am getting worse. Woke up this morning
with a sick stomach. I've got to get it together. I'm afraid of how it will be with me if it's stolen. I can't live through 4 years of THEM. No way in hell. I haven't been able to ignore bush and his gang so I know I won't be able to stomach THEM. I have to be okay with my government in order to live a happy life. I have to be content that we as a country are doing the right thing--not killing people all over the world, not making those in our country suffer, not destroying the planet. I could go on as you all know. But the stakes are so goddamn high that yes, I am scared shitless.

8. Nope not at all - afraid of 8 years of McCain/Palin absolutely
Edited on Thu Oct-30-08 09:17 AM by dmordue
Did you actually think we would have 8 years of Bush? DU was a pretty confident place in 2004 until Bush won.

12. It's different this time.
Even from 2004. DU was not around until after 2000 election.

22. It's not election night yet. Probably wisest not to count our chickens . . .
. . . before they hatch.

11. No.
We are still capable of generating and recognizing an FDR when the times call him forth.

13. I'm optimistic about our chances.
But I understand those who aren't - as long as they don't tell me to be fearful, too. There is understandable concern and there is blind concern.

17. I know that we have it
I believe that if it is stolen this time, everything is in place to challenge it to the fullest. No way will the repubs have this one.

20. I remain
cautiously optimistic. I have an inherent distrust of our Government, especially the repugs. I plan on staying up all night Tuesday if necessary to see the result of the election. Even if Obama wins I wouldn't put it past the repugs to stage a coup before inauguration day.

21. Only a little.
I'm pretty confident of victory, and that McCain will concede before midnight.

Not sure, though, how much will be stolen. I want even Fox to concede a mandate for Obama.

23. I'm excited!
There are nutjobs everywhere but I believe:

1. Radical Repukes are chickenshits and
2. Once they get used to the idea of someone COMPETENT running the country, they'll calm the hell down, even if they don't like it.

I don't believe there is any room for them to steal this one. We've never had a candidate like this one before.
