Watching a few of the Infomercial wraps and reading a few of the assessments, it strikes me that they really, really do not want Obama to win - God only knows why (likely Corporate Daddy doesn't like a Dem in the WH).

But all of this whining about "well, Obama has all this money, and...he is SPENDING IT...and if McCain had it...and so on.

Isn't the whole point of running a campaign to win? And isn't that what Obama's brilliant strategy is all about?

Of course Obama has more money. He is reaching people, touching people, giving people hope like, if never before, not in a long time.

McCain has no message, no ideas, and all he can do is attack. He's got nothing. Anyone who votes for him are suckers who are betting on the guy at the table with an empty hand - they are suckers.

So he is spending as much as he can to get it directly to the people. That means infomercials, ground game, many personal appearances.

I mentioned this in another thread. The moment Obama decided to forego public financing, I KNEW he was going to win. I sensed right then that he was not afraid to take his lumps short-term if it meant WINNING in the end. He knew that "keeping his word" (even though it wasn't really that) meant SHIT with the Republicans. They would STILL find ways to funnel money to McCain and blitz with 527s.

He did what he had to do to win this thing and THAT's the kind of cunning we need in the White House. Not necessarily when dealing with the American people, but with other parties on behalf of America.
