Give McCain FL, IN, MO, NC, NV, OH...

Poach VA from the Obama column...

1. I saw that - liked what the Rep. stratetgist said: It's McCain's barn that's on fire.

2. I sent them an email that, if Obama already has 286 ECs, it makes
no difference if you give McFudd those states. Duh.

3. It would take a bona fide miracle (or major computerized theft)
for McCain to win at this point. I'm still worried about the damn voting machines.

Which of the states in play
Use voting machines and wich don't? Do they all? My State uses none, so I'm not sure how many do use them. It is a state by state choice.

5. The early voting has pretty much sealed it for Obama

4. Chuck Todd should have put NV in Obama's column
The early voting in Nevada has been especially brutal for Republicans. Early voting turnout is probably somewhere around 40-45% and it's 54% Dems and 30% Republicans. The Nevada ground game might give Obama a double-digit victory.

9. I'm really hoping NV comes through
The smaller EV states matter as a fall back. While I hope we don't have to rely on the barely win - Kerry states +NV, NM, IA, CO model..though I think VA is more likely than CO.

Any word on CO's early voting? I'm confused because the D and R numbers are so close but people are saying this is still good for us...Is that because of unaffiliated/independent voters leaning Dem? And I'm not sure about FL either.

Taking either FL or OH would be a nice way to close this damn thing out quickly, but after the last two elections...

12. Here's a good link for early voting statistics:
http://elections.gmu.edu/early_vote_2008.html

The Colorado early voting appears to be going somewhat well for Republicans. However, the McCain campaign has all but officially pulled out of Colorado, especially with advertising money, so that's the main reason why it's no longer considered a true battleground state anymore.

6. I suppose Todd will put PA in toss-up based on one poll and discarding a dozen others.
