Should Obama shift to 100% positive ads from now until Tuesday?
I'm anticipating some "Hell no!" responses, but it seems to me that at this point in the campaign that people probably have attack ad fatigue from the Presidential race and the various state and local races which likely have even nastier advertising. I know I'm tired of seeing the same 3-4 ads from the Senate race on a constant loop on my local stations. If Obama were to make a dramatic shift to all ads highlighting the various themes and people from his thirty minute slot in these closing days then I think it would create a huge reservoir of good will in the minds of people who have been bombarded for the last few weeks. It would also have the effect of making McCain's advertising seem very desperate and petty. What do y'all think?

2. He's been pretty positive most of the way through, but I'm a big believer in negative campaigning.

4. I would love to see an ad stating how Palin is brought to us by big oil...
...how she turned a $26b gas pipeline into a $40b gas pipeline. Or, one about how her family's involvement in AIP.

I would love to see an ad that shows that infamous kiss between Bush and McCain's first choice for his VP, Lieberman. ...Then say something like...When Bush needed the bogus Iraq War Resolution, he went to Lieberman...and when Lieberman needed co-sponsors, McCain was there to sign on. I want to see an ad with clips of McCain selling the war. ...ANYONE who pushed this war should no longer be part of our government.

5. Needs to continue to mix it up.
The ads attacking McCain are as important as those promoting Obama. The attacks are about what McCain stands for, not who McCain is. The attack ads are substantive, not bullshit. We have run an honest issue oriented campaign. There is nothing at all wrong with attacking your opponent for what he stands for. People need to understand both why they should vote for Obama and why they should not vote for McCain.

6.  What would Rove suggest? -more or less what you're
suggesting. This is not the time to back off and be charitable to the enemy. The difference between Obama's ads and McCain/Palin's is that the former lay out the truth and the latter are a pack of lies. What could make anyone think that McCain's ads are anything but desperate and petty other than continually refuting them with the truth. To call that negative advertising is a misnomer to say the least. To propose that positive ads would charm the enemy over to our way of thinking is naive at best. At worst it's another scumbag Republican con job. But I'll give you benefit of the doubt and suggest you're just a bit overconfident and wearing rose colored glasses.
