Dean to be in ME., ND, MN, WA, OR, NM,, and MO by election day.
Dean says will be visiting Maine, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Minnesota, Washington, Oregon, New Mexico, and Missouri in the handful of days between now and Election Day next Tuesday, November 4.

He was in Maine today.

Dean spoke along with Senate candidate Tom Allen about Democrats’ positions on important issues and encouraged all present to take advantage of the early voting that will take place today in Farmington.

DNC chair appears at UMF, touts Obama's candidacy

FARMINGTON -- Howard Dean on Wednesday spoke to a standing-room-only room of college students and community members, saying they were living in an extraordinary time where they have a opportunity to change the course of history.
"This is a great country and a great people. What we lack is a president who is as great as the American people," Dean, chairman of the Democratic National Committee who was in town to rally support for presidential candidate Barack Obama, told nearly 300 students at the University of Maine at Farmington.

Dean made his appearance with Tom Allen, who is running in a tight race for the Senate against Susan Collins.

In a speech that stressed unity and not division, Dean said Obama has the ability to heal America and to be president for all Americans, not just those who agree with him.

"You are the first multicultural generation in our history. You see yourselves as culturally inclusive. You are on the right track of rebuilding this extraordinary nation," he told the crowd that frequently interrupted his speech with standing ovations.

He was in Reading, PA yesterday. Here is video interview there.

When he started listing the states he would visit before the election, he got a grin. The reporter said we heard that before....Dean said "Yahoo"

2. I disagree. Those "ashes" were a media construct. He's always been this good.
Dean is the Democratic Jackie Robinson. We all stand on his shoulders. He is the author of the new Democratic way.

3. Whether a media construct or not, he has redeemed his image like no one I've seen.
I hope he gets the recognition he deserves. He should stay on through '10 if he wants it.

5. I thought it was wise of Obama to leave Dean in place.
Once Obama won the primary, he could have replaced Dean. He didn't.

I know of no personal ties between the two...it was a smart decision based on Dean's ideas and contributions...and he deserves every bit of it.

6. I think of Obama as our Jackie Robinson.
But Howard Dean is the best thing to happen to the party in a long, long time. His 50-state strategy was absolutely brilliant!

4. YEEEAAARRRGGGG!!!
Sorry...seeing Deans name and bunch of states made me scream.

That wacko Dean and his 50 state strategy. As if Democrats could ever win in Indiana or Colorado. Or be competitive in Montana and Georgia.

:sarcasm:

8. Yep, a funny thing happened....
on the way to the election.

He empowered people outside of the DC structure, and just look what happened.

Obama's campaign had the money and power structure to bring it to fuller strength.

But then many state websites don't show when he's coming.

Florida's Dem website doesn't mention his name.

The contact info is there, janx. I remember reading when, but my mind is blank now.

More than anyone except Obama, Plouffe and Axelrod, he is the one that has made this possible. Now go take a vacation for a month after Tuesday, Howard - you've more than earned it!
