Y'know what the real stinger was, about tonight's 30-minute campaign presentation?
The word that was never mentioned:

McCain

Damn. He's not even important enough to attack any more.

So, Sarah just pulled the plug ("I'm running in 2012!" "Well, hay-ull, Cletus, Ah thank Ah'll jes' sit this'n out, then, until Ah kin go vote fer that nice Christian gal with the babazoongas.")

And Obama just put the lid on the coffin.

I am almost starting to feel a minor twinge of sympathy for poor ol' Gramps. He just can NOT catch a break.

Oh, yeah, and the Phillies WON!

Definitely, Armageddon is at hand.

hopefully,
Bright

12. I heartily agree!! Check out this little cameo, from another string.
kinda sums it up in a nutshell.

On another string someone describes their experience watching the Obama-mercial in a packed Phily bar,
and how all these ordinary folks fell silent for the entire 30 minutes, asking for the volume to be turned
up, then applauded when it was over.

... then they were immediately assaulted with a McCain attack ad and there were audible groans and heads
shaking in disgust.

4. But Wait! This is a clear-cut case of Elder Abuse!!!
Not Obama, but those around McCain.

Palin and a Tawd are spending his dwindling funds on fancy duds and booze, and talkin' behind his back, and Joe "the Plumber" is hitting up the old man too!

Why won't someone help John McCain, he doesn't even seem to know this is happening (clear signs of dimensia)!

5. Crap
I love Obama and will vote for him, but I did not like tonights ad. I thought it was beneath him.

The thing I did love was that he kept it positive and never mentioned McCain.

The part I didn't like was that he was basically saying, vote for me and all your dreams will come true. I thought it was targeting a low brow audience and that appeal appeared to me to be something the Repugs would pull.

Not a Deal closer, but he probably gained some of those undecideds with tonights appeal.

8. Not sure we saw the same thing
I saw people with real issues and Obama explaining his plans to help those with similar issues. He went into more detail over his ideas and what he plans to do to achieve those goals. Not sure where you got this 'all your dreams come true' stuff from.

10. You're so right and I'm glad someone said this!
Obama should have said, "You know, we're fucked regardless, so just vote for the cool candidate!"

WHY DIDN'T HE? WHAT A LOSA!

:sarcasm:

16. ...
:wtf:

Seems I'm doing that alot these days. I didn't get "All your dreams will come truuueeeeeeeee" from that ad at all. I got "We have a hell of alot of work ahead of us, and we can do it if we just pull together. As America, not as a single party."

I cried my arse off at the end of it.

19. I am a big supporter
I've worked the phones, went door to door, and donated.

I just thought that ad was over the top and cheesy. Parts of it were touching, but overall I thought it was the type of Ad beneath this campaign. He actually said that "Every American gets the American Dream", not that everyone gets a better chance, but that we'll actually get the American Dream if we vote for him.

I was expecting more substance rather than all the pulling on the heart strings. Maybe it wasn't meant for people like me who have studied the nuances of the issues and agree with Obama, but it was very generalized and appealed more to peoples emotions than to their intellect. It appealed to different emotions than what the Republicans would do, but its not honest politics in my mind to play on peoples emotions like that.

7. It Is So Nice To Feel Good About An Election And About The Future
Watching that infomercial and portions of the rally with Bill Clinton just makes you feel good. I don't see how Republicans can stand going to these hate-filled rallies being conducted by McCain and Palin, since you can't help but leave such rallies both angry, fearful and resentful. Yet, Republicans seem to thrive on all that negative energy.

a flashback to the first debate where Obama pulverized an awkward looking Troll doll aka McCain.

13. I'm running in 2012 - says 3 possible things
1. She expects the mccain-palin ticket is going to lose on tuesday

2. should the mccain-palin ticket win on tuesday, she's expecting mccain to be a 1-termer and mccain won't run again in 2012

3. should the mccain-palin ticket win on tuesday - she plans on challenging him in 2012 if he decides to run again

now that's what I call campaign/party Unity - which brings up a big question, perhaps Biden will point it out in these last couple of days - if mccain can't unite his own campaign, if he can't unite his own party - how is he going to unite the country?

15. If smearing Obama was a public policy, and the only public policy
the McCain campaign would be winning right now.
