26. Heard it from a man (who got it in an email) on NPR yesterday. I love it.
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=96215190

All Things Considered story about St. Louis job trainees talking about their lives and the election (the "Rosa" quote is at the bottom) ...

snip...

A few of the workers said they would cry if Obama wins.

"I'm going to cry, scream, holler, just thank God that my kids get to see the real dream, because they say we can be what we want to be, but it only has gone so far in a black community," Battle says. "You know, we've never seen our people go all the way to the top."

Newberry says she'll cry, too, but that she's worried about Obama's safety.

"And then I always say prayers for him, because you got so many people who just are so wicked," she says. "No matter what, and how qualified a person is, they have a negative feeling about a black person, and I pray for his safety."

Several of the trainees say they plan to vote for the first time ever. Roberts says he refused to vote in the past because he didn't think his vote would count — but now that Obama is running, he'll go to the polls. Wright says she feels the same way.

"I, before today, didn't feel like my vote really did count," she says. "But this will be my first year. You know, my mama, we're going together. I'm going to get up, wake her up, let's go. I'm taking my brother. He's never voted — he's 32. It doesn't make a difference, we're going to make it a family affair. We're all going together to the polls."

The trainees' instructor, Ed Welch, was listening to the conversation; he mentions a text message he got from a friend urging him to vote.

The message read: "Rosa sat so Martin could walk. Martin walked, so Obama could run. Obama is running so our children can fly."

32. Have you ever seen him in person?
He spoke at a conference I was working 2 years ago. I was one of 2000 people in the audience and it felt like he was talking directly to me. He has a great stage presence. His speech was 15 minutes long with no notes or teleprompter and not a canned speech. He got 2 standing ovations.

In my line of work I've seen many public speakers of note and The Big Dog was the best. Maya Angelou was a close second.

Just staying the night and just checked in. I read your post and even with like 42 channels there is no MSNBC. Like I said. Imagine that. I at least have the Comedy Channel and am watching Barack's interview. :)

33. He was referring to the notion that Obama would be far superior to McGrumpy
in executing decisions as Commander in Chief, and that his general aptitude and ability would make him a much better "executor."

34. I for one have never doubted his love for this country and its people and though
I am finding myself admiring Obama oh so much more, I will continue to give credit where credit is due, he tried to play the middle, but simply because they want it all, they attempted to destroy him..I honestly despise those kind of people..thankfully I honestly do not believe all REpublicans to be of the same calibur as the majority of them are which constantly leaves me wondering why in this day and age anyone could still call themselves a repug and not feel shame..

38. Ahhhh Bill... my "first".... he popped my vote cherry
The first President I voted, I was in college and soooo eager to be able to cast my vote in a presidential election

He may have made some bad decisions, but no one can deny that Bubba (1) cares about this country and its people, (2) is intellegent and (3) can get people off their feet

You never forget your first... I feel all giggly all over again

40. You gotta love Bill....
... laughed like crazy at Barack's punch line eventhough he messed up the set up.

(Said, "McCain's campaign said if we keep talking about the election, we'll lose." It's supposed to be "... if we keep talking about the economy.")

Poor brain is getting tired.
